A friend of mine recently showed me this car. Although details appear to be sparse, he mentioned it's a one-off by Hamann. What do you guys think about this thing?

He is interested in selling it in the US if the price is right, but my understanding of the exotic aftermarket (especially regarding companies such as Hamann who add many parts to the car) has always been that the value of the aftermarket bits is subject to a lot of questioning.

What do you folks think is the "right" price for this car? I'm interested to hear from those who own or have owned g-cars, or people who have been through a few and know the market well -- roytoy in particular :) I'm vaguely familiar with market values, but not enough to give my friend an accurate idea of what range he'd be looking at to sell the car in the US.

Clarification from my friend: the car is definitely a one-off. It is not Hamann's standard Gallardo kit. It supposedly has extensive engine work done to it, but I am waiting on the details.

I really like it, but I think I would like it 20% better without the stripe.

The carbon fiber trimmings remind me of the Zonda. It does not look bad. Makes the car look a little more aggressive. But I am not a fan of the color scheme.

It would be interesting to hear what Roy says. I've always understood that any money you spend on dress up kits is gone the moment you have done it - the aftermarket bits have no value on the used market. In fact, in some cases (i.e. fugly mods), you should budget for the cost of returning the car to stock in your calculations.

Anyhow, I can't see the point in doing this to an SE. The SE is already rare. If you want to mod a car, pick a stock one.

Very sharp. Hamann's work suits this much more than their work for Ferraris. It doesn't look overdone and cumbersome the way their work always looks on Ferraris, probably because the G's lines are sharper and more angular, less fluid and flowing, which lends itself to Hamann's style.

    Forza,
