Hamilton rubbishes number plate story

A story was doing the rounds earlier this week claiming that Lewis Hamilton had paid £196,000 (250,000 euros) for the personalised number plate LEW 1S. The story appeared on a number of websites, including that of the official British broadcaster ITV, but was subsequently deleted.

British fans of the driver felt uneasy, mindful of the fact that personalised number-plates are now considered the naffest of the naff, the sort of thing that only footballers and WAGs opt for, not Formula One drivers.

Thankfully, Lewis has rubbished the story, admitting that he had heard nothing about it until today.

"That sounds about the worst number plate I've ever heard of," he told reporters at Magny-Cours this afternoon. "I'm not stupid enough to spend a couple of hundred grand on a bloody number plate. I wouldn't spend a hundred pounds on a number plate. A number plate's a number plate. It doesn't mean anything to me. I just heard about it today. It was the first I'd heard about it."

Hid dad borrowed this car from his friend or known person..
Several articles announce that this car is not from Lewis.

I wonder why the most stupid and hateful things are spoken from the arse.

Maybe it's because the arse is so much further from the brain than the mouth.

Some of you guys are absolute jerks.

The guy is very skilled at F1 driving, a dream for most if not all of us. High risk = high pay, simple as that. He can spend his money on whatever he wants, oh sorry thats right it makes him an a55hole or whatever.

For those of you that do not understand the investment opportunity in UK registration plates, dont even comment as there is big money to be made, Lewis paid a lot dont get me wrong but it is his choice.

As for him wanting privacy etc, who gives a ****? Why does someone buy a collection of rare supercars and not drive them? Maybe they just like to look at them!
