I’ll respect him more if he says,

“I have asked my team, and they have agreed, to withdraw any and all protests associated with the results of last Sunday. I wish to congratulate Max on his World Championship season, and I look forward to retaking my championship next year.”

    Championship sportsmanship, right there.

    merc is appealing the results?

  3. I agree but I don't know about "years to go". We'll see if he re-ups after next season (which will be #16) and for how long if he does.

  4. Once again 'baffled by some posters logic.

If Max "whipped his but(t) all year", how did Lewis (with 2 DNFs to Max's 1 too boot...) end up tied with him going into the last race of the season???
Seems to me (I know nothing of course) that if one's arse is "whipped", one should have lost the title races before the end of the season..
Matter of fact, Hamilton, was "whipping" Verstappen's butt in said last race until Latif walled it. And again, even at that, they finished one-two.;)

That doesn't sound like a whipping to me.

The ****ty part is that max did deserve to be WDC, just Not with controversy.
At this stage of his career mad max is probably a little bit faster than Hamilton but what let down Lewis this year is what should have been his strength : experience. He made quite a few mistakes that proved costly such as Baku for instance.

Shhhhhh… you are going to be told Max had a widely inferior car ( I disagree) and that the only reason Lewis was in the running revolves around some conspiracy theories ;)

  7. The logic thing again.

Did you see the race or read about it? He got "owned"??? LH (virtually) led the whole thing prior to the last lap. Are you even aware of the tire situation at the end?
Apparently not. LH's 43 lap old hards, and Max's brand new reds? Of course he was a sitting duck.....

I wonder what would have happened these last laps had their not be a SC. Read somewhere the pace of Max was 4 seconds faster a lap than that of Lewis in the last lap. So that would have been 3 laps for Max to make up for those 11 sec while he had 5 laps left.
Could have been the same outcome after all.

Makes you think, the SC was almost in Mercedes advantage had Masi not decided to let them race earlier than Mercedes expected.

No chance for Max without SC.
He was gaining around 1-2 sec per lap IIRC, I was a bit disappointed it wasn't more.
And he still had to overtake 4 lapped cars Lewis had already cleared.
I think the 4 sec you mentioned were in the one lap, Lewis lapped the 4 backmarkers.

i see it like this, the race starts, LH meds MV softs, LH opens a gap...... they pit, MV fresh hard LH fresh hards, LH opens up another gap. MV pits to his 2nd set of fresh hard tyres under VSC, during this VSC and the final safety car we have only around 7 - 8 secs that the gap closes up.. LH had MV beaten, final SC, MV changes to Softs, under the rules the other 57 laps and other 22 races was held under, it would have finished as LH race winner........ in a nice confortable easy victory.

Yeah, I know. On the other hand, the media are leveraging all that and more to denigrate Max's WDC - repugnant behavior.
Particularly when you consider the house of Windsor's skeletons and so on.

If you're concerned about LH, as you seem to be, reach out to them about the consequences of their actions on the sport.

I care about my life and my kids the rest is just noise.
I am happy for max he won it period. That’s sport, sometimes it is fair, sometimes not.

If you want to keep denigrating guys you don’t know I.E Lewis and praise Max that’s cool. They all live in their own multimillionaire bubble in Monaco and could care less about fchat. You are far from being the only one doing that here.

The dude has been gracious in defeat, is British, gets the highest state recognition that only people like Jackie steward, Stirling Moss ever got; goes with his mother attend that ceremony and you still out there putting homophobic hints online? That says a lot about the hate in your heart and your state of mind regarding Hamilton…

Go ahead, carry on, defend your action with whatever counter you got, just low.

It’s not about Hamilton, it’s a reflection of you. I’d defend the same way vettel being mocked for cleaning after himself or if mazepin was coming out liking other men.

You've not been watching racing very long, have you? Drivers unlapping themselves is not new. Hell, Lewis himself got unlapped after he was nearly 2 laps down when he threw it in the wall in imola this very year.

Lewis/Mercedes didn't pit for softs..thats their error. The track was clear and ready to race on..why should there be additional safety car laps if the track is clear? Please explain that to me.

Newey added he believes his team had the faster car for most of the season and admitted the change in regulations had played into their hands in the first part of the season before Mercedes were able to close the gap as the year progressed.

“We all voted for the regulation changes,” said the former Williams and McLaren technical boss. “Did it suit us more than Mercedes? It seems so, certainly earlier in the year, then in the last few races they came back strong

“But I think on balance we’ve probably had the quicker car, and that’s a tribute to everyone back at the factory."
