Hamilton needs a good dose of Jean Belestre. One meeting with him and not only would his jewelry be gone, he’d probably have all his tattoos removed! F1 is run by wimps now who allow kneeling for anthems and drivers to flaunt the rules. They need to grow a set.

If it's a choice between Hamilton's jewelry and Jean Marie Balestre's svastika, I know which one I prefer.

One is a driver with an identity crisis, the other a collaborator who participated in the rounding of Jews for deportation.

    Just saying ...

Would it be controversial to say that this season so far is summing up Hamilton, which is that without the best car he is just a middle of the pack kind of guy?

To be fair he is right, not his problem Fernando just racing.
I’d love to see Fernando finish his career in a better car.

Perhaps you're right. Lewis' driving proves conclusively that he won his WDCs in the boardroom, not the cockpit.

What does that have to do with my post, or how he managed the drivers in F1?

Jean Marie Ballestre was the last person on earth fit to give a "dose" of anything to anyone.

Unless, you have an inclination for nazi characters, of course.

You make some of the most bizarre statements. What does someone’s war time affiliation have to do with the fact that he was strict with the drivers? And secondly as a person who’s family was interned by the Nazi’s I find your commentary insulting and ban worthy. You have absolutely no right to infer such a thing.

Even the revered Charles Leclerc wasn't putting up the best of results in 2020-21 when his mount wasn't a top-flight one . . .

What are you talking about? William's mention that J-P Balestre was a Nazi collaborator during WWI is "insulting and ban worthy?"

We are rather touchy about people's "war time affiliation in Europe", and we don't take kindly those who crossed the line.
Ballestre benefited from enormous protection in high places after the war to escape justice. No less than a state cover up.
Many of his colleagues finished shot against a wall. This has already been treated on this forum.
So suggesting Ballestre's name as someone who would have been a moral authority to dictate drivers' behaviour is simply grotesque.
I didn't infer anything; you decided to take the bait.

Right you didn’t infer anything. Spare me the lecture, I’m from Europe too. Dredging up Nazi affiliations has absolutely nothing to do with with my comment that someone needs to enforce the rules. Hamilton has tattoos all over his body as a manner of expression, should he be allowed to drive shirtless?? Why not you ask, because it’s AGAINST THE RULES! You must wear fire proof underwear and a racing suit to be able to drive, and you must not wear jewelry. It’s really quite simple, there is ZERO argument for why he is being picked on. If he behaved like a professional sportsman this thread wouldn’t exist.

No inferring that I “have an inclination for nazi characters”. This is a thread about Lewis Hamilton deserving more respect, not calling other members Nazi sympathizers, so yes I think that’s over the line and ban worthy.

Don't worry; it's just another storm in a tea cup caused by someone who takes personally what was a tongue in cheek remark.

    It will blow over. ..
