Words are wind and I'm not offended until someone's human rights are actually violated. Wake me up when Q1 begins...
All of this over something that apparently caused no notice when it happened……a year ago. I can’t find how this actually came to light now. Anybody know the source?
It was definitely in the news in Brazil several days before the story was picked up the F1/Motorsports sites. I suspect the timing is very much related to Hamilton receiving the honorary Brazilian citizenship from the Chamber of Deputies just a couple weeks, and the renewed interest it generated.
I think tone more than anything as different accents could still have the same meaning despite how long a syllable is enunciated
Agree. I think that this is Lewis's PR agency at work prior to Silverstone. Please give it a rest. @furoni: Alonso sucks.
You have proof LH is doing this?? We have zero information why or how this appeared. Typical responses lol. All LH all the time he is at fault. I guess a water pipe leaks in the building next door it’s LH fault. Nelson does have a solid record of being a crap human being which is the issue not LH. Grow up!! Notable lack of response from RedBull. Fired a junior driver and no comment on this racial insult towards an active F1 driver.
Why does Red Bull need to say anything? Because of their drivers' girlfriends' father saying something? Nelson is in no way affiliated with Red Bull.
My opinion: someone in F1 feels the needs to direct the media attention away from his poor race results......
The hypocrisy is F1 and everyone else calling this a "racial slur." YET. F1 races in Middle East countries where "women's rights", the LBGTQ community would be DEAD in those countries, and "racial inequality" does exist and China where's there's concentration camps I personally don't take F1 seriously, nor anyone else, when the inconsistencies in rules, and this "other stuff" is so hypocritical when they race in said countries. That's my 2 cents.
I suppose the new generations sees this as inevitable and welcome it: anything is good to make waves. People don't just shrug and shake their head about something untoward, they want to exploit it for their agenda. When I follow motor racing, I don't expect to be reminded of the ugly aspects of this world.
This ! I am a very interested in political or historical facts but I don’t want to see politics in my beloved motor racing.
Spot on. Why would this resurface just a few days away from the British GP? Apparently this came from a podcast taped back in November.
Some people think change, just for the sake of change, is good. This notion has been promoted since the 1970s. The fact is that change initiated without sufficient planning and consideration is not good. Change resulting from selfish or emotional impulses is almost always counterproductive.
