    Typical.

So you accuse an entire group of people, then when confronted about what it's actually you're accusing them off, you run away with your tail between your legs.

Come on Jimmy, supply any evidence you can and the persons you're accusing will be permanently banned and improve this place. You already stated it as a fact so you might as well supply the evidence.

According to some British sources ( pinch of salt) Lewis is negotiating with Elkan to drive for Ferrari next year …

That is horrifying if true. What’s so great about him. Nothing. Charles is every bit as good as him. Lulu will cheapen the marque and team beyond where it is now. Chrome wheels and gold teeth to come.

That story comes back regularly in the British press. I don't know what to make of it.
It seems to me that Mercedes still gives Hamilton the best chance to finish his career gracefully.
Apart from offereing a lot more money, how the Scuderia in its present state could be seen as a better proposition.
I already said that Hamilton stock is declining, and I cannot see why Ferrari could be interested in him.
It would be interesting to know the views of the tifosi who are Hamilton haters, on that subject.

    Indeed Hamilton is declining.
Hiring him would only means that Vigna and Elkann don't understand what Ferrari really needs :
A competitive car first not a lecturer.

Are you sure they have asked him for the F1 team? It is way more likely they asked him to become a catwalk model for their new clothing line (before Adidas gets him)!

Ferrari is reportedly set to offer Lewis Hamilton $50 million to leave Mercedes and move to the Scuderia at the end of this season.

According to Daily Mail F1 reporter Jonathan McEvoy, Stellantis and Ferrari chairman John Elkann is "in close contact" with Hamilton whom he hopes to lure to Maranello to eclipse the seven-time world title record the Briton currently holds in F1 jointly with former Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher.

Rumors of Hamilton moving to Ferrari have been rampant this year on the back of the Briton's talks with Mercedes over a new and likely final deal in Formula 1 with the German manufacturer.

However, a week never goes by without Hamilton or Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff claiming that the pair is resolute on continuing its long-standing collaboration.

Lewis MIGHT go to Ferrari for only 1 thing.....MONEY and lots of it.

Lewis isn't going to Ferrari to build a team.

Why Ferrari would spend that kind of money on Lewis is beyond me other than to throw money around.

Then there's Lewis's "beliefs" that go against him. Ferrari isn't diverse enough for Lewis.

If that happens, I think the Ferrari management is going completely bonkers !!

Obviously Hamilton would go laughing all the way to the bank !!

If this checks out, then those in charge of Ferrari have completely lost the plot and my support.

I struggle to think of a bigger possible boondoggle that this team can invest in.

Usually tifosi are supportive about Ferrari drivers, but I doubt it would be the same for Hamiton.

he didn’t build McLaren and he didn’t build MB either. If he came as part of a package with great tech people like schumey did that would be one thing; at least when schumey came over he was winning. Lewis would be a waste of time and money, Ferrari need to find the next Adrian Newey-that’s whom Ferrari need to sign.

    Exactly. It makes ZERO sense.

    a) Why would Ferrari get Lewis? If they suspect Leclerc walking, for MUCH less they can get Norris, today.

    b) as you say, Lewis needs a team around him, that takes at least 3 years minimum

    c) 50 million isn't enough for Lewis to actually move to a slower, more unreliable car

    ---

What this more than likely is, it's a number thrown around by Lewis management, as the offer he got from Mercedes likely hurt his ego a little bit. Normally he always signed very early. There's been a delay on it for a while now. He wants Merc to match the 50 or he walks.

The only two things I can think of are:

    a) Hamilton is using Ferrari to bargain with Mercedes.

    b) Ferrari like the idea of him being the face of the team for their lifestyle products. In which case, count me out, as it has NOTHING to do with racing, and shows they have no actual interest in winning.

    what about

    c) possibly bringing in more sponsors wanting to be associated with a 7 times WDC.

    d) attracting engineers/designers to boost the technical staff, having an experienced driver onboard. (like at Aston Martin)

We don't know what John Elkann is thinking (if this story is true).
