Apparently that is no longer possible today. Too bad we are probably losing the best people.

Too much football mentality is coming to F1, IMO. That's not a good thing.

Indeed not a good thing. Seen it in Tennis as well trough the last couple of years it’s getting better.
However I don’t think this has anything to do with that mentality. For as long as I can remember people are defending their hero and debating which one is best.

And I do think Rémy didn’t meen sending Hamilton to hospital. However zero points, future grid penalty’s and 1,8 million taken from their budget would be more fair than the 10 seconds he received.
Let alone if these lost point at the end are enough for Hamilton or Mercedes to take the trophy.

SimCity3, 7 day thread ban for mixing in P&R to a non P&R thread.

Guys, take note, P&R comments do not belong here. There is a specific thread in P&R if you want to talk politics and F1 at the same time.

Popularity does not equate to appropriateness.

    :)

As has been said many times - we have a place for P&R - all are welcome - the water's warm.

I call it tribal mentality where people lose the notion that they are following a sport, and only want their favourite driver or team to win.

There is no need to be a Drama Queen, it's gamesmanship. Blame RedBull for being idiotic enough to release Max and Perez behind both Mercs.

Gamesmanship implies mind games. Intentionally holding back the other drivers so they can't even warm their tyres properly has nothing to do with gamesmanship anymore.

    Sad act with zero class.

Of course he would; making a driver error, driving the only title competitor left off the track, gaining 25 points and getting away with a mild penalty while stil winning the race.

You don't need a PhD in maths to be able to make that calculation.

It's clear the penalty given doesn't fit the crime, and disingenious Lewis is trying to exploit it to the max.
Ecclestone hits out at stewards: 'That penalty was not justified' (gpblog.com)

One thing is for sure though; respect is what he lost again.

I find it comical that Lewis be criticized for his qualifying performance. It's like you guys have never watched a race before and have no concept of how the game is played. There is an incredibly thick rulebook for a reason. Racers by their nature look to eek out the tiniest of advantages by any means necessary. It is a massively selfish and ruthless activity with no room for softies. Not a SINGLE rule was broken today in final qualifying and all I see is a bunch of belly aching after Lewis came out on top again. Had Max done the EXACT same thing you guys would be throwing a big FU to Hamilton rather than say Max was unsportsmanlike.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Lewis is far from being my favorite but from a pure performance perspective his score card is difficult to argue against.
