Exciting? He rules? He rules being the jerk of the circuit, that is about it. So far this season, he has not added anything to the excitement, unless you count his mechalical failure and that incident at the end of the Spanish GP.

Running your tires down to the threads is not exciting, finishing a race where you have a chance to win is exciting. That, does not describe Mr Hamilton. Even his teammate is around at the end to finish the race, that makes Button even more exciting, and that is like calling the growth of a plant seed exciting.

Sorry, Hamilton is anything but exciting. He is wreckless. Frankly, there aren't any exciting drivers in F1 any longer, especially not Hamilton.

    Maybe.......um.......crap, can't think of anyone.

As for the season, it will probably come down to Vettel, Webber, and Button. Maybe Alonso.

Give the man his due. Hamilton is a brilliant driver even though he drives for the enemy...

He just needs to put his head in gear before engaging his mouth...

No cheater wants to be known as a cheater. Once you cheat it is hard to lose the title of cheater. Too bad people can remember what you do.

I suggest Hami stops cheating. Maybe some will actually forgive and forget.

Then there are others who will NEVER FORGET.

    Forza Ferrari. ;)

I am. He is due everything that is said about him. He already cheated, so to act as if he is the one remaining angel in the sport is a bit hypocritical.

He could be driving for Ferrari for all that matters, the reality is, he is dilusional. He needs to shut up and start beating his own teammate.

Amazing that Button is more of a problem than his former teammate Alonso.

On the contrary, I would say that Hamilton is a very very talented driver.

But "brilliant"? We've seen too many cases of "brain fade" to call Hammi "brilliant".

That slash across the track start in Japan(?).
    The whole chicane hopping thing.
The way he runs his tires to death.
    etc ...

And he still needs to get a better feel for the hardware, to stretch a less than healthy machine to the end, to get the most out of a poorly balanced car, or to preserve his tires and fuel.
Think Hami could have nursed a wounded car along the way Alonso managed, a couple races back?
(Button is beating him simply by getting more out of a set of tires than Lewis.)

Talented, absolutely. He may have the best technical vehicle control skills on the grid.
But "brilliant"? A little more thinking and a bit less "red mist" might serve him better.
    (Including during his street driving.)

But then, when you start filling the grid with 17 and 18 year old drivers, you've got to expect a few bouts of immaturity. :p
F1 really needs drivers like Rubens and Fisi, just to act as "scoutmasters" for the cub pack. ;)

And, it seems, that every young driver who achieves too much too soon while too young winds up with a case of foot-in-mouth syndrome.

Earth to Hami apologists: lying to stewards about race matters IS CHEATING!

    Get it?

    Really. ;)

I can understand where a lot of us are coming from, but I still stand by my statement that Hamilton is a brilliant driver...but a foolish one.

I have stated earlier that he has NO right to sling mud at others.

The man has done some foolish things and driving for a top team puts him in the fishbowl where the spotlight glare really shows the mud dripping off of him...

But, like his hero Senna, at the end of the day you have to say he has incredible skill and has already done some amazing passes and amazing races already at this point in his career...the talent is there but the wisdom is not...

I would really like for Mika to be his manager and talk some sense to him. I don't recall Mika ever making the numerous PR blunders that Lewis has a knack for...;)

Hami lacks character. He may not be the worst cheater out there but he is no angel. Most drivers do their jobs and stay within the rules. Lying is not something you can chalk up to red mist on the track in the heat of the moment.

Attacking Schumi in whatever backhanded way only serves to draw attention to Hami's own shortcomings.

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. ;)

It's a little too late for Hamilton NOT to be known as a cheat and a lier. He made that bed and now he has to sleep in it. For better or worse that is as much a part of his legacy as his drives.

Schumi never did live his errors down and neither will Hamilton. Schumi was in only his 3rd full season when he nerfed Hill off the road and NEVER lived it down, or the 97 finale w/JV, or the Rascasse incident, or...

It is what it is...Hamilton is stuck with this label and I believe that DrS would play a SELF-OWNED card on him in 2 secs flat...

He's the most exciting driver out there and I don't like him. No one can tell me what he's worth because I happen to witness his driving every outing. Ferrari would be quite lucky to have him and if he isn't the best driver out there, he is no.2. I don't care what he blathers about, I believe he is an obnoxious narcissist and an idiot but he'd be one of the guys I'd want to have racing my cars, jerk or not.

    Tell me who'd disagree ;).

Revisionist history. Button is beating him because he didn't pit in the rain when everyone else did and he did pit in before the rain when everyone else was caught in it.

Nope not at all. Hakinnen and Raikkonen are both some of my favourite drivers but both drove cleanly.

Which is PRECISELY why he has to watch what he says!!!

Everything he says can be excerpted and taken out of context.

Everything he says that is negative have the posibility to alienate sponsorship deals not only for himself, but for the organization he is the face of...he has a responsibilty to represent the McLaren organization of hundreds of hard working people and their families in a positive manner.

He needs to sit down and look at how he is conducting himself and make the adjustments necessary. He is extremely intelligent and just needs to think through the repercussions of how he interacts and responds to others that can present him in an unfavorable light.

It's called responsibility...talent is only part of the skill set required.

Right, and to remind the can't see beyond the hate mob, Lewis got out of the car and told it as it was, THE TRUTH!! later in front of stewards he told a different story, we can only assume it was agreed with the team, later the TV interview came out and it was contrary to what he had said, that was the problem.

The thread as I predicted is another excuse for a bash fest, make no mistake bitter and twisted insanely jealous folk piss me off.
