Awwww, did we offend you? Something tells me that if this thread was about anyone else you wouldn't care. Get over it.
Can we all take it down a notch? (myself included). We are on a Ferrari site. McLaren is the enemy of Ferrari. But even enemies can show respect... Frank
It's all good... As tifosi why don't we enjoy our team having a real prospect of winning at each race...much, MUCH better than this time last year, is it not? RBR still has the reliability issue, thankfully! Frank
What about he man who's very helmet you have in your DP? I cant remember him pulling many dirty pranks unless my memory fails me.
You did. Of course my statement was an exaggeration. But the fact is, that as you get more and more successful in F1 (as in collecting wins and titles), the chance of having done some really bad thing increases. Particularly in the modern era of F1 (say the last 20 years). Yes there were some exceptions. As mentioned Hakkinen and Raikkoenen come to mind. Not totally sure, but I think Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve haven't done a bad thing either. Button is debatable. He did some shady team changes, which however ended up costing him more than anybody else, so maybe that doesn't count.
I'd have to argue against Damon Hill, some of his moves against Schumacher were pretty dubious. Try these for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdZ-L6OOsWo&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqfSM3R3smo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t9CTDj3vr8&feature=related The first two examples could be argued that they were mis judged manouevres but the third example is simply disgraceful driving. (Still, for Schumacher, "what goes around comes around!", to save other people saying it. ).
I really liked Hakkinen. He may have expressed himself in private, but others honored his wishes not to air everything. He was tentative, but careful, in the way he answered media questions in print, on the grid, and when being interviewed during the racing weekend. Speaking of Hakkinen, who can forget the pass at Spa in 2000? One of the classic passes of all time... Frank
Exactly, all you said was "show me an F1 driver that hasn't done a dirty deed and I'll show you a slow dog" I said Kimi and you said Fins don't cheat, therefore I was right. P.S. I know thats your helmet maybe I should have said replica helmet instead .
I cant remember the exact quote by Frank Williams but something to the effect of; All F1 drivers are rats. They HAVE to be or else they didnt have the stuff in the first place. As far as respectability I think Hamilton is at the top of his field. A little naive/gullible perhaps but a good person overall. Compared to Alonso and MS a Saint.
