I like Carlos and think he brings more consistency, but Leclerc is the superior driver and Ferrari's golden boy.

..and probably 2 races he would have won, at least would surely finished ahead of carlos wich instead would take him further points....and let's not forget Imola where a lucky safety car made Charles lose 2 places and sainz gain......under normal circunstances and only depending on each driver performance, Charles would be some 60 points ahead.....

Oh OK so now we should take in to account these problems now?

So that makes Hamilton champion of 2016 right?

Leclerc is ahead in every stat, so that's a false equivalency.

You are getting confused again, I said he's barely beating Sainz, the points don't lie.

You said he has his "hands full." Context is everything, and I have yet to see any evidence of what you proposed.

I would actually say that the Red Bull has a slight edge over the Mercedes, and if Verstappen wins Monza by the same margin, I think it's safe to say it's the superior car, but not by much.

The Mercedes is still fast. However, if Max can get pole and stay in Hammy's way he has a good chance to win. It was proven at Monza a few years back that the Mercedes is good in the lead but not so good when it has to follow. Anyway, it could be epic. Monza . . . . one of the best tracks ever! I'm stoked for Sunday.

Exactly what part is not true? Max being very young at the time? In 2018 he was 19 years old. Few drivers make their debut at that age. So I would say that my statement is true.
When Max came to Red Bull, did he only have 1 season of F1 under his belt? Yes that's absolute fact, unless you've found evidence of Max having raced in F1 before 2015?
The fact that Max only had 1 season of car racing before coming to F1? Absolute fact.

Ric not being very good this season? So that immediately discounts every race he's done before. Got you. Alonso is not very good this season, by that Logic Hamilton must be rubbish. Yes Ric was unlucky in 2018, but every time he retired he was already well behind Max. So it's not like he was beating him at any of those times.

How about you answer the question, instead of projecting, what driver that is available, should Red Bull have signed?

At the time of signing, wasn't available. Don't forget that Toto is his manager, this would be a conflict...he'd either ask for too much money, or Toto wouldn't want someone with intricate Mercedes know-how at Red Bull, or Red Bull wouldn't want a Mercedes Managed driver at Red Bull.

Bottas performance is better than Perez in terms of podiums, but that is because Mercedes is a better car. If Perez was at Mercedes this year and Bottas at Red Bull, the podium stats would simply be reversed IMO.

no that would be Kimi, who won even though he had more DNFs than either LH and FA. In fact the only dnf LH had was him beaching it in China-his own fault.

Lewis' teammates are drawn forward to the point of beating him for WDC, not pushed back. What does that say?

A very thoughtful, well articulated rebuttal.

Truly great drivers push their teammates past their breaking point and they become demoralized, sliding down the rankings. Michael Jordan was rumored to do the same thing to teammates who had to defend against him in practice. Meanwhile, Lewis cannot be counted on to reliably beat his teammates for the WDC, never mind demoralize them.

I'm not buying this.. especially the importance of being a "truly great driver". Do you have any stories of drivers being past their breaking point and becoming demoralized?

Yeah. I know what you mean.
But, you know.....maybe you can help me out here.
For the life of me, I can't remember all those teammates that beat him to those championships......
I just remember Nico doing so once (by a WHOPPING 5 pts., 385 to 380)..... The "lowly" other seven championships were his.......
