I think he knew well in advance. That clip that was posted earlier seems to indicate he knew as early as May, unless it’s something that was taken out of context.

Leclerc and Sainz are of the same generation, not Hamilton.
I guess Hamilton is going to be listened to in terms of development and strategy.
His seniority and the experience he brings should give him an important role in team briefings.

Agree. I think both Ferrari and Hamilton want to tick that box, so neither of them will say later "if only ...".

    Too late too little.

Max isn´t available, so they had to choose the other guy.

Hamilton’s instincts on who to drive for and when have certainly rewarded him. Perhaps what he heard from Ferrari stirred those instincts again in a positive way and we will see our team return to its winning ways.

I think Hamilton has his sights set on 2026 when the BIG formula change happens with the Scuderia.

LOL, the technical changes due to the hybrid engine formula that delivered Ham´s titles are entirely the result of the investments of Mercedes.

    And Mercedes only.

Plus Mercedes was helped by the F1 governing body, the technical rules, Because the other teams had a development cap from day 1.

You think the Hamilton to Ferrari news is shocking?

Wait what happens when he actually wins the WDC with Ferrari.

Will heads explode or all will be forgotten and forgiven (as in Alonso's case)?

Starting in 2025 Ferrari just lost my support.

However, I am sure they don't care one bit about that as I am only one of those old fashioned (and out dated ) long term Ferrari supporters who cares for the cars and not the clothes / lifestyle

The Ferrari brand and the Hamilton brand are a match made in heaven. Sales of merch will be going through the roof.

Will they win races? Yeah . . . if they deliver a fast car. Which would be the same for almost any top driver.

    Next topic . . .

Well the news certainly relegates the 2024 season to be a non-event. Use up the old cars and designs and have all the focus on 2025. Leclerc can use 2024 to enjoy his last year as team #1...Sainze can spend it looking for his next job...Russell can spend it kissing up to Toto...Max and RB can enjoy a free title year for both championships...GM can use it to work on their purchase of Haas with Michael keeping a low profile until the deal is done...and Hamilton can enjoy a season of not trying hard and blaming it on the car. Everybody use 2024 as a press release about 2025. And Liberty works on cutting back a few races in 2025 to increase ticket demand...sort of like Rolex limiting the watches for sale to drive up price. They will be lots of glitz and bling during 2024, but all just to hype 2025.

True, Ferrari is definitely changing. Many will be left behind, and they don't care.
