You gotta be kidding me. Besides having a superb car under him, and a pretty useless team mate, everything is going well on Hamilton side. Throw in Ricci and see if it's still the same.

I like Lewis but I don't agree with DC - Don't think anyone will ever be able to statistically

measure Senna's performance he's an amazing Legend and all the pundits should leave it at that

Hahahaha, more drivel, British press promoting their little darling.

He's not fit to lick senna's boots. End of

He is currently in a dominant car, seconds faster per lap than the rest, no development allowed for others to catch up, and his team mate has had his wings clipped to keep him quarter second away, because remember girls, Nico was just as quick and just as many poles all year last year, until he dared to try an overtake at spa that went a little 'Lewis' and punctured their number ones tyre.

Good as Senna, jeez, what a load of old tosh.

I'm not going to bash Lewis here, he's driven a couple of faultless weekends. But DC is coming on a bit strong here. It's easy to look so good whilst driving the best car by a very long shot and a team that's completely on your side.

    Senna esque it is not.

For me, the best drivers in my lifetime so far have been Senna and Schumacher. Hamilton has a long long way to go before he can be placed in the same category as those two. He is very very good, but no better than a Vettel or Alonso. This praise of ham is clearly premature and imho damages his potential legacy by stocking up anxiety in all ham haters. Pity.

WEll, we all know where this is going.....as everyone knows, Elton is a very fine driver, a bit like Mansell, not as talented i guess but once he got a far superior car he trashed everyone else.....thing is when Elton didn't have the best car he was banging wheels with Massa down the field.....and it's hard to say wich car was best. Elton never drove a bad car in his entire life, the proof is that he's been able to win a race or too in every season since he started....who else has had that chance? WE all saw what Sebastian did with a TOro Rosso, Alonso with a Minardi, How Shumacher won a title against a superior car, Senna with a Toleman, Prost with a crappy Mclaren in his early races, Mika or Herbert with a Lotus, Alesi with the Tyrrel and super crappy Ferraris, but what about Squirrel boy? Nothing, when his Mclaren was not a top shelve car he showed nothing, just a good driver but nothing extraordinary.....and today he is the same, a good driver with a mega car, swap him with Massa and he won't do any better while the Brazilian will become WDC.

+1 mate, it takes more than wins to be the best driver. Look at Giles, revered as one of the greats, cut short in his prime, didn't win much though still a star driver. Alonso, revered at Ferrari for dragging that dog of a car through 5 seasons and almost getting a title in several, he had no right to get those performances from the car, yet he did, that shows his talent, yet he achieved barely any wins in that time while his peers were terrified of him getting a car to match the talent. THATS what makes a great driver.

That is what I thought as well. Hamilton is certainly good and he is dominating at the moment but he does nothing Vettel did not do 4 years in a row but still it is regarded completely different...I think none of the both is matching Sennas performance yet...

One of the things about Senna was that he was exciting to watch, he raced with his heart and all his talent was hanging on for dear life........ He rarely had the advantage of an overly dominant car, and when he did, he had a multiple world champion with almost the same level of talent in it prepared to bang wheels and race him, not a guy reduced to rear gunner, even when starting on pole in the eyes of the team. I can't say I've ever felt excited at eltons racing, there have been plenty of strong feelings about what he does, but never exciting

I Agree that perhaps today's cars are not as exciting to watch as 70s and 80s, so perhaps it's not entirely the drivers fault we don't rate them as much as previous ones, still Alesi was always amazing to watch, even recently i posted a couple of moments by Massa that were top notch.....but Elton? He did a greta race in Silverstone when Mac got the right tyres for him and the other did not but apart from that, i really can't remenber anything else....

What I find strange is, it is the folk that despise dislike hate and loath Hamilton with a passion that talk about him the most, the irony of it is hilarious...

Oh and am not talking about that wavy stuff called corrugated iron! ...in case some those haters do not understand what I mean...:D

And again all those not thinking Hamilton is at least on pair with Senna are called haters and "loathing Hamilton"...Sorry, but that is what I call a very simplified view of the world.

and there you go, gentlemen....once again if you don't agree that lewis is a legend then you must 'despise dislike hate and loath Hamilton"

Straight from the horses mouth....yet if you look at the posts, none say anything other than he's a good driver...just not senna-esque.

    geez man...get over yourself.

LH drives well in this vintage of F1 car. Senna did well in his time. Comparing the 2 era's is useless. The tech difference alone ensures that. Both are respected in F1. What more does any fan need.
