Hammster to Ferrari...?

HIGHLY doubt it.
McLaren is basically Hamiltons family. He won't leave them no matter what.
I believe McLaren/Whitmarsh have been part of Lewis's life ever since he was 9-10 years old. They spood fed him into Formula 1 and they just have a lot of history together. Doubt a British will leave his British team to ANY other team.

Moss was that way for years. Too bad, his career could have been epic if he wasn't so loyal to British teams. His time at Mercedes showed him he needed a good car to win. And when he finally got one, the Vanwall, his honesty cost him the title.

 

Italians don't like him.

They want Vettel in a Ferrari.

 

Don't count on it. Hamilton is massively loyal to Ron Dennis and McLaren, it's part of his idolization of Senna.

 

Lewis is not loyal to McLaren, Lewis is McLaren's prodigy and if they let him go then they have proved that all this effort since he was a baby was wasted.

It's not serious. Don't worry about it. Never gonna happen.

 

It could work because Ron Dennis is not with Ferrari, and because the British tabloid press would focus on their home teams.

The real story of the whole Alonso - Hamilton mess has not yet been written.

The "rivalry" was essentially a product of RD's management, Anthony Hamilton's interference and the British press. Many Fchatters swallowed it whole to produce a wonderful orgy of righteous indignation.

FA and LH get along fine, and they probably always have. It is true that LH is not popular in Italy, but FA is adored. Ferrari is delighted with his style, work ethic, and performance (some past Fchat predictions make for hilarious reading). Furthermore, he brings all the sponsorship monies that Ferrari will ever need.

Therefore, what FA wants, FA will get. If he wants LH, he will get him.

And he might. Interesting times ahead. I will post any info or gossip I can find.

I did not say that FA wanted LH at Ferrari. I said that IF he wants him (and I believe it is possible, although not probable), he will get him. IMO.

I would be surprised, but this business is full of surprises.

 

So in your opinion Hamilton has no say in the matter.

 

Nigel Mansell went from Williams to Ferrari, Mike Hawthorn was the first British World Champion at the wheel of a Ferrari.

Ferrari F1 has a massive fanbase in the UK and Santander sponsor of both Mclaren and Ferrari uses Hamilton in its advertising here.

Having said that I would rather see Button at Ferrari than Hamilton.

 

He does, and I suspect that he would say yes, as would most (if not all) F1 drivers who are offered a position on the Ferrari team. He would only be following the steps of many great British drivers.

I very much doubt Alonso and Hamilton have always gotten along just fine - I think they got pretty intense while they were team mates. So I shall have to respectfully disagree there and say that Alonso probably does not want Hamilton at Ferrari, and so a move there for Hamilton would be impossible while Alonso is the Ferrari #1.

I must admit, I was worried after the McLaren woes that Alonso would not be a good fit at Ferrari, but he appears to be proving me wrong.

You lot are dreaming, why on earth would Button or Hamilton play 2nd fiddle to Alonso at Ferrari.

I can hear it now Ham/But.... Alonso is faster than you.......

Fact is, Button is allowed to race Hamilton at Mclaren.
