Some of you guys are like the Israelis and Arabs, every incident is provocation for the next one, whether the incidents are related or not. Regarding Sid's cancer: Sid brought up a personal health issue in a post. He made it a subject of discussion by that act. william questioned whether it was true or exaggerated. Users are entitled to do that. Sid could have caused other forum users to heap disdain on william for the manner in which he questioned Sid, by providing evidence that he did have cancer. Instead he refused, by retreating with the excuse that it was a personal matter even though he was the one that made it a subject of discussion. His right, but he weakened his own position. As it stands, moderators have no support for any action, since we have no proof that Sid has cancer, even though most of us believe it's likely true. End of matter. Regarding Sid's ban: it's not simply refusing to put another user on ignore. It's his presumption that he gets to continue to do everything we're trying to avoid moderating when we ask users to put other users who aggravate them on ignore. If Sid didn't put william on ignore, but never responded to william in any personal way, that would be fine. But refusing to put william on ignore, attacking him by calling him an "enemy", then demanding that the moderators treat any future comment by william to Sid as a presumptive "negative", while doing so in his own very negative post to william, is just hypocrisy. We don't care if you love Hamilton or hate Hamilton. Stop sniping at each other.
oh c'mon. The F1 summer break just began. Surely we can reduce the sentence under the circumstances. This weekend there's a NASCAR race as well as DTM I think, and F4, and certainly my local karting track has a race. Will those suffice for the 1 race ban? I may just have to start a countdown to Sid's return thread to pass the time.
Interesting that no one tried to plead leniency for cairns "1 race ban" given the same circumstances about the summer break.
