After relasing the hand brake the handbrake light on the instrument panel stays on. The handbrake is definitaly released. Any suggestions ? Another question: this Saturday will be the Ferrari Club of America Concours in Ontario. Any of you guys know WHERE is this event will take place? No, I do not want to enter I just simply like to talk to fellow owners-shop talk.
You don't list a Mondial in your profile or your post, a bit more info about which Mondial you have would help us help you. Alden
In addition to the 78 308 GTS I also have a 1987 Quatrovalvole Cabriolet. I believe last year I had the same problem -I drive these cars only in the summer-and after pulling and releasing the handbrake a few time the light went off, but I would like to fix it so next year I wont have this problem again. Where should I look?
I had the same problem. Pull the cover off the handbrake (one or two screws). At the back of the handbrake you will see an easily accessed switch (with a wire coming off it). Adjust the height of the switch so that the light comes on when the handle is pulled and goes off when released. It's really very easy.
Hi guys ! The hand brake light problem is taken care of: first you remove the stainless steel trim part , next the leather covered panel, next the handbrake cover. The light switch is in a bracket held to the body with one 6 mm nut, remove the nut, lift the switch and place two 6 mm fender washers between the bracket and the body, so now the switch sits about 2mm higher than before and voila ; no more hand brake light issue. Oh, you wil need an 8 mm wrench to remove the nut.
