But I'm unduly biased in favor of the 355 notwithstanding its issues.
Agreed! I would be smiling even bigger. Congratulations Dave.
Congrats! One fine looking automobile...
SWEET RIDE! Congratulations Dave.........I'm typing this as Dave H. and Dave L. are ringing my doorbell!
wow, I didn't know you were getting a new car!! looks great! congrats.
Beautiful Car!!! Congratulations Dave!
Hey thanks guys...I still have this great big grin on my face! I have been looking for a 355 off and on for the past year, and really got serious in the past month or so....a few impressions;
This car is amazing...it reminds me a lot of Dave Larrabee's 348 spider that I have driven a couple times...it is just more of the "good stuff"....more power, better handling...etc. The car is very sedate when "loafing along" at 3-4k rpm...and the ride is much smoother than my previous 308 or 328...or even the 348 spider. That part surprises me, since it handles so well. The best part is when you get the rpms above 5500, then the engine really sings. That is what I have always loved about the 348 spider and 355's is the way the engines howl like an F1 car at the higher rpms. You just don't get that from the 308/328, even with a Tubi.
The comfort issues are also quite good. The 328 has a better air conditioner than the 308, and the seats are marginally better...but the 355 seats are a big step up. The thigh support is much better...and the power steering, which many bag on, is really nice, especially when parking. It still has a very direct feel...at least to me. Overall, this car is extremely easy to drive...and feels much more like a "modern" car...both in good ways and bad ways. I must admit that the 308/328 is a bit more raw...and that can be both fun, but also tiring on a long drive.
I am still very self concious driving this car...it attracts way too much attention. But it is truly a fun machine...I think I will get used to the attention it draws....
Oh, and BTW, my 328 is officially for sale. Pass the word to anyone who might be interested... email@example.com for details, or call me.
Congratulations, Dave! Hopefully there will be a few more "top down" days for you to enjoy this year.
I want that silver Dino in the showroom.
Congrats Dave! The 355 is a truly awesome car. Enjoy that high-rpm howl!
Truly a Fine Ride Dave!!!!!
Dave was gracious enough to let me drive his new baby around the block a few times this evening, and it is definitely "All that and a bag of chips!"
Two Ferraris in his garage now, That's just Insane!
Damn rich people...
congrats dave! the 355 is one of my favorites and I hope to own a yellow spider oneday! .. I don't think you will get any sleep tonight!
Wow, what a happy surprise! I was happy to see you mention (silently) on the weekend drive thread that you'd show up in your soon-to-be-picked-up 355 spider! (or maybe it was another thread) That is such a fine looking 355 spider too! Congratulations on your new ride and let me know when you're up in Vancouver with it...
And happy birthday! that's by far the best birthday gift one could buy for itself!
Yeah and I thought I gave myself a nice Christmas present last year buying my 308. Happy B-day too Dave!
Ya know, when I first read the subject line of this thread, my first reaction was to think that Dave had gotten yet another hot 19 year old girlfriend....
HBD & congratulations Dave! That looks fantastic.
Still think you should have found a black and tan!!!!
congrats Dave and hope to see you out tomorrow! Happy 21st by the way
Hey Dave- GREAT Looking 355!
Have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY today!
That car will certainly help keep you very young at heart!
You should rive around Medina, where you got flashed the last time - with a 355 spider, who knows what is in store for you...esp on your birthday...;-)
Well now finally, my neighbor has a twin - maybe he won't feel so insecure being the only red/tan an come out for a drive lol.
It would be nice to get all the local 355 spiders together for a "family photo".
Congratulations Dave. Very nice looking ride. Can't wait to see it up close.
It must be really fun to look at two Fcars in the drive way.
Whatever happened to the gentleman with the yellow/black 355 spider we met last year at Enzo's birthday party?
Congrats on the Hot Red Head. We just need a White one to be completely patriotic. Not sure what to do with all the dark ones! Just kidding, you guys can have the lead next time.
Congrats Dave!! I don't check f-chat for a couple of days and see what happens! Can wait to see it. Wow. - Tim
