    But I'm unduly biased in favor of the 355 notwithstanding its issues.

    Hey thanks guys...I still have this great big grin on my face! I have been looking for a 355 off and on for the past year, and really got serious in the past month or so....a few impressions;

    This car is amazing...it reminds me a lot of Dave Larrabee's 348 spider that I have driven a couple times...it is just more of the "good stuff"....more power, better handling...etc. The car is very sedate when "loafing along" at 3-4k rpm...and the ride is much smoother than my previous 308 or 328...or even the 348 spider. That part surprises me, since it handles so well. The best part is when you get the rpms above 5500, then the engine really sings. That is what I have always loved about the 348 spider and 355's is the way the engines howl like an F1 car at the higher rpms. You just don't get that from the 308/328, even with a Tubi.

    The comfort issues are also quite good. The 328 has a better air conditioner than the 308, and the seats are marginally better...but the 355 seats are a big step up. The thigh support is much better...and the power steering, which many bag on, is really nice, especially when parking. It still has a very direct feel...at least to me. Overall, this car is extremely easy to drive...and feels much more like a "modern" car...both in good ways and bad ways. I must admit that the 308/328 is a bit more raw...and that can be both fun, but also tiring on a long drive.

    I am still very self concious driving this car...it attracts way too much attention. But it is truly a fun machine...I think I will get used to the attention it draws....

    Oh, and BTW, my 328 is officially for sale. Pass the word to anyone who might be interested... dave@davehanda.com for details, or call me.

    Wow, what a happy surprise! I was happy to see you mention (silently) on the weekend drive thread that you'd show up in your soon-to-be-picked-up 355 spider! (or maybe it was another thread) That is such a fine looking 355 spider too! Congratulations on your new ride and let me know when you're up in Vancouver with it...

    And happy birthday! that's by far the best birthday gift one could buy for itself!

    Dave,

    Congrats on the Hot Red Head. We just need a White one to be completely patriotic. Not sure what to do with all the dark ones! Just kidding, you guys can have the lead next time.
