The parking brake seems to be loose on the 97 I just bought. It holds, but I wouldn't trustit on a real hill.

Any simple self-fix (cable adjustment), or should I leave it to the shop when it goes in in a few weeks?

How is the racheting mechanism? On mine, the pawl that engages the teeth was worn. A buddy of mine reground the pawl with a pneumatic hand grinder, but a few months later the pawl (being of soft metal) had worn down (rounded) again...so it would slip off the teeth and release. He welded a bit of stainless steel stock on it last weekend, and reground it. Perfect now! ;)

Curious if anyone else has experienced this?
