The parking brake seems to be loose on the 97 I just bought. It holds, but I wouldn't trustit on a real hill. Any simple self-fix (cable adjustment), or should I leave it to the shop when it goes in in a few weeks?
This is an easy do-it-yourself job -- even I was able to do it. See this thread for info on how I adjusted the parking brake on my 348. I assume that the 355 would be same/similar. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=167643 - Eric
How is the racheting mechanism? On mine, the pawl that engages the teeth was worn. A buddy of mine reground the pawl with a pneumatic hand grinder, but a few months later the pawl (being of soft metal) had worn down (rounded) again...so it would slip off the teeth and release. He welded a bit of stainless steel stock on it last weekend, and reground it. Perfect now! Curious if anyone else has experienced this?
