Walmart even carries some of these handheld gps devices ranging in price from $89 - $200, they compute how fast you are going, direction, some elevation, mapping etc.

Anyone have any input on the various units?

I carry a Garmin Geko 301 with me quite a bit..... it's an excellent piece for the way I use it. It doesn't have a built in map but that's not really what I want it for so it's no big deal. Best thing is that is the size of a small cell phone....

    Plot your own stuff, Mark?

The thing they give us is ungodly. About the size of an iPod and in colour. Amazing.
