While I was going through the 348 making small repairs, I finally decided to go after the driver door lock issue. I am guessing that when the small plastic hub that breaks on the door lock mechanism finally broke, the previous owner did not want to bother fixing it so he just pulled off the arm and linkage ( never found it myself). I had the new metal replacement hubs but no arm or linkage. The arm kit is over $300. So I decided to make one myself. It took a lot of hand filing to get the correct inner slot but it works great! I also made the white block connector for the linkage. I had a black plastic rod end in stock from my sim racing pedals that I used for the upper linkage. You can see my replacement bracket in the center of the pic. Glad to finally get that done! :D

Thanks guys. It took me about an hour to make the bracket and linkage. Most of that time was filing the slot to match the mirrored one on the passenger door. ;) This does not include the time it took for me to tear the door down or assemble it. I took my strakes off for the first time. I thought that would be harder than it was. I spent a lot of time looking for the two "10 mm" nuts at the front as they are listed in the 348 primer info. They were actually 6 mm nuts that use a 10 mm wrench. :) A good time was has by all (even though it was just me). I have to say, I really enjoyed myself hanging out in my garage wrenching on my 348 with my tv going and my neighbors stopping by and chatting while I worked.

Update: I just got the call that my brake calipers are ready to pick up from the powder coating shop!! WooHoo!!! Pics to come. ;)
