    There needs to be a tire option so that a driver can choose a <harder> tire and be able to do the entire race without a pit stop (should the team choose that strategy).

    At the moment they run on ... Chinese tyres .

    Pirelli is 100% owned by ChinaChem.

    Ferrari used to run on Japanese tyres before: Bridgestone.

    The only thing that matters is who will throw the most money at Liberty Media, the FIA and the FOM. Any tire company could produce tires given the spec, it only matters who is willing to dig deepest in their pockets to fund it. Doubt it? Then why so many races in countries with no history of Motorsport who are allowed to waive the normal hosting requirement and jump straight in? Why have Spa or Monza ever even been considered as being dropped from the roster. Bribes talk.
