Hi all, A long time dream came true a few weeks ago when I purchased my first ever Ferrari, a 430 Scuderia. At first, I wanted my first Ferrari to be all red, but I now realize that the stripes are the trademark of the Scuderia (similar to the other special models) so I kind of like them now that I know the background. Car seems to be in good condition, readouts were 10% wear on clutch and only 6% wear on brakes which would indicate it's been taken good care of. Annual servicing every year at an authorized dealer. I have a question for you experts. The car has an exhaust which is printed "X-ost Maranello" and supposedly also an upgraded ECU from the same company. I've read lots of posts on this forum regarding different exhausts and also potential problems with stock exhaust, headers etc. Do any of you have some more information on this type of exhaust and ECU? Is this a good exhaust upgrade, and what does the ECU upgrade mean, more power or simply better tuned to this particular exhaust? The sound really is awesome, car has radio which I've yet to turn on. I simply can't get enough of the lovely V8 music Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks a lot! Here are a few more pictures (sorry for poor mobile phone quality)... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
X-OST makes a good exhaust. As for the ECU, it is would not have been necessary for the exhaust unless there were other components added (sport cats or catbypass pipes). The ECU is likely there to improve the running of the car, smoother and more linear power delivery, better performance and improved usability. The headers on the Scud are not as bad as the regular F430 since they do not have that pre-cat in them. With that said, they are still a possible point of failure and should be tested, plus, there is a lot of performance left in the Scud by changing a few exhaust components
Thanks for the info on X-OST! I might be in for some upgrades later, I first need to get to know the car a bit more According to authorized Ferrari dealer where I purchased the car, the exhaust has sport cats, and upgrades to both ECU and the F1 transmission, all from X-OST. Does this make sense? Owning this car really is a dream. The enthusiasm wherever you go or park the car is overwhelming. True, you don't see many Ferrari's around here, but still... I enjoy every second out driving
