Hi ya' ll, test drove a beautiful 97' triple blk 6 speed manual. Has extensive records. Car is sweet, beautiful straight black bodywork, handles great, shifts smoothly, pulls well, stops great, top fully functional but most importantly, sounds AWESOME-full tubi exhaust. I went over the car very carefully, I did forget to check one thing, oops... the stereo. Final "hand shake" will be based on results of PPI-compression/leakdown test tomorrow.

Sounds like a great car. If you're getting a Tubi you won't need a stereo! I've used my stereo for maybe ten minutes during the last 13 years...

Exhaust system Fabspeed headers and cats, Tubi Muffs. That was good, now the compression/leakdown.

    Cyl PSI / %

    1 190 / 5
    2 190 / 10
    3 186/ 10
    4 210/ 5
    5 195/ 10
    6 210/ 5
    7 * 100/75 *
    8 190/ 7

    # 4 a little valve cover oil leak in spark plug housing flowed into cylinder
    # 7, A major shock to all of us. Car runs so strong. Determined intake side of head is culprit.

The discussion continues with the seller today.

Good luck with your car. You might like to check out the threads that I have started recently regarding a similar situation with a car I was looking to purchase that also has compression and leakdown issues.

Total shock to everyone, car runs so smoothly and strong, seller and I came to agreement on reduced price to accommodate engine out service. She currently is lounging in my garage. Will enjoy her for a couple of weeks then I'll bring her over for service.

My mechanic is going to scope inside to see if he can identify exact problem, more likely than not, engine out, head removal/repair of issue, major service.
