Hey Ferrari fans: I just want to introduce myself and what better way than at the start of a new year:). I am new to this group and I certainly welcome the opportunity to meet some quality new people.
My question for the day: I am currently looking at adding to my garage family. From a future appreciation point of view, do I pursue a 2007 Porsche gt3 rs or a 1999 Ferrari f355 fiorano. Obviously the audience is a bit biased, but I welcome your thoughts.....

Personally I think there is a broader audience for the GT3 RS. I friggin love that car, and there are lots of 911 owners looking to upgrade, esp if they track it. The 07 wasn't quite as desired as the refreshed ones, but still - awesome car, and seemingly more exclusive (vs a generic 355). Also maint costs on the 997 are SIGNIFICANTLY less than a 355 based on what others here have mentioned, but to each their own. YMMV.

Welcome to FerrariChat! How often do you plan on driving it? Everyday? Get the Fiorano. Occasional weekends, maybe once a month? Get the GT3.

...if you get the Fiorano, please let us know the serial number. :)

I disagree, rode in a GT3RS and it wasn't too bad to be driven daily. Yes, the suspension was a little stiff around the bumps, but it wasn't bad.

My favorite car is the 355, so that's my answer! :D

But, the RS is a great car, street or track!

    Hey Everybody:

Certainly appreciate the honest opinions and the insight. To answer the questions raised, I am planning on driving the car no more than 1000 miles per year (probably less) For whatever it is worth, I also have a 6000 mile 456, a 2004 911 twin-turbo cab, and a 1976 930. What I am looking for is a 2012 sleeper which will be a collector's dream in 10 years. I should also mention the 355 would be a Fiorano.
As for the member who jokingly made the Italian comment, I can tell you that when I bought the 456, I swore I would buy nothing but Italian for the rest of my days (I was THAT impressed).
Just trying to make a tough decision.

Thanks again and the best to all of you in 2012

For those of you holding your breath, I made my decision and I am proud to say it is a triple black fiorano. Should be taking delivery in about a week. Look forward to making some more quality Ferrari friends
