Within the past week, I've gotten about 30 calls from the following phone number: 413-236-5648. On two different occasions, I've actually answered the phone only to have nobody ever come on the line. The area code is in Massachusetts. Even a telemarketer will usually answer the phone when you pick it up. What's up with that number? Does it look familiar to anybody else? I tried all the reverse directories on the net that I know of, but no luck. Who are these jerks, and why are they calling? Normally it wouldn't be worth worrying about, but these guys are the most persistant that I've seen and they add about a dozen calls a day to my caller ID box.
Call me crazy, but I don't think that it should be MY duty to register MY phone number on some internet list in order to keep people from harassing me. I think THEY should not be allowed to utilize computer dialing systems that amount to nothing more than a machine harassing people strictly for the good of some boiler room sales operation in New Delhi or Bombay that is linking their phone system through a stateside interchange.

I found that same page when I went searching. I think that it was just somebody's effort at getting back at the telemarketer: they simply posted their number on a bulletin board. But that still brings us back to square one: who are they?
I can't remember who it was, but it would nice if you could get ahold of their fax. Tape together 3 pages in a circle so that the fax never stops ... and send it all night.
No one uses real fax machines anymore. Or rather, they are being phased out. More and more faxes are coming in digitally and going out analog. The wonders of Right Fax enterprise faxing software. Forget the fax number bit, if you're having a hard enough time with the I.D. portion getting the fax is a waste of time. Sunny
Sticking to your principles is one thing but you'll still be getting the unwanted phone calls. Log the offending number in the complaint section of that site and the calls will stop.
