Just this last week I noticed harder hot starting, coincident with new fill-up of fuel. Starts after 5 seconds cranking with foot to floor, so no biggie, but previously it was a quick twist of the key. I can even hear the fuel boiling if I listen to the Weber throats through a piece of garden hose. Cold starting is easy as usual. Textbook fuel boiling in the bowl issue....question is why all of a sudden? The conspiracy theorist in me has the refiners upping the volatile/ethanol content in the blend as crude prices rise. Anyone else with fresh fuel notice a change this past week?

Mark, you may be going through the seasonal gasoline change from summer blend to winter blend. Gasoline in the USA has changed chemically over the last several decades. Due to EPA mandates there has been a reduction in the percentage of aromatics. In general, a carb car from the 70's and earlier needs to jetted richer from OEM specs to run on modern fuel. The fuel you have in Connecticut is Northern Reformulated Gasoline with Ethanol. Aka N RFG w/Ethanol.
