http://www.caporsche.net/images/carsforsale/911/MeteorGray81Targa/images.html I haven't seen this one yet, but the colors are phenomenal and the guy who did the interior (Tony Garcia) is doing my Speedster -- his work is the best. Plus it's been well sorted, which is usually the problem with these older 911s -- not worth enough to restore with any upside, so they usually drive like old worn out cars. I don't think I've seen an SC this nice since the mid 1980s. I may be heading up to Fallbrook later this week, schedule permitting, to check work on my car and will have a look at this one if anyone's interested. Or I may just buy it, if I can swing a "frequent customer" discount...
Very nice. Just trying to remember when SC's were new: should the interior be a tad more yellow in it i.e. cork interior? Maybe that was for the late 70s SC. Also, should there be stickers in the rear by the engine lid latch and "Shell" sticker on the air cleaner top box? Anyway, I had a triple black 83 SC cab - the first year 911 cab and only SC cab. That is the car I kept the longest - 9 1/2 years. All the rest I kept less than 2.5 years. Good times with the car in Socal.
I think it's polite car ad shorthand for "not driven by some teenager who beat the crap out of it and worked on it in the parking lot at the local car parts store."
pretty car. I've seen quite a few nice targas lately, sadly most are heading to Europe do American Porsche fans a favor and buy one that will stay here
My take is that the price is too much, which is why it is not listed. Nice car.......but at anything over $30K+ I'd rather have a perfect 911 3.2 or a 964..........
+1...although I've been to that shop a couple of times and I must say that the cars they sell are top shelf. If a particular car lights your fire I'd feel comfortable cutting a check to these guys.
My '93 C2 Cabrolet, triple black with 27,000 miles went to Germany...it was advertised in Panorama and I had several people contact me from Germany. This was about 15 months ago- I forget where the euro/US $ exchange rate was, but it seemed to be more a function of them loving the air-cooled cars like we do, but having a smaller pool of clean/mint low mileage cars relative to the demand given the harsher diriving conditions there (and I've heard worse road salt if the cars are driven in the snow). Anyway, I think these guys got into the PCA somehow just to get access to the Panorama classifieds!
The interior color did not look correct to me either. Although, I'm not a fan of tan or tan-ish colors anyway. As another poster mentioned, for more than a certain amount of $ I'd rather get a 3.2 Carrera. Best regards, Dino
