That's funny, you asked the same question, but used the name John Gillespie on the NC/SC region? What's up with that? Just curious!

    Ciao,

Trying to find previous owners to complete history. Not all Ferrari's are one owner cars.

wow. i have pics of your car when it was being restored. there was a company on Tybee Island GA that was called JJI Restorations. Jim and Linda Invintinato ran it. i was a kid in Military School, and drove by in my ratty Trans Am , and saw a 275 GTB 4 cam that was there, and i stopped to ask permission to look at it. from there a new friendship was born.

for about 6-8 years i was in close contact with them and i saw and photographed many of the cars there. Jay Javetz is in our car club here in Savannah ( Oglethorpe Driving Club) and he has a 512BB, but i have not seen it yet. Mr Javetz had some amazing cars, and it was a real privilege to see them in action. i wills ee what i can scan and post, i am always glad to help a fellow gearhead.

Sadly, most of my 35mm stuff is buried, i shot over a hundred rolls of film out there, and always took pics of the Javetz cars. i did find these pics i took.

the Dino pic was taken on 11/22/1988 by me. the car was going back together after paint.

the 275 pics were taken by me on 2/15/1988. i will post them in the vintage section also.

i will try to find the rest of the pics of your Dino, but it may take some time. i am on the hunt for another 308, so let me know if you hear of any!

    Michael M

ps, i had just turned fraking 17 when i took these!

hi, i can reach Jay if i really need to. i think the OP wanted to talk to JJI Restorations (Jim) about the Dino. Harold has been in poor health for some time ( i dont know any specifics) and i would not dare bother him about cars. i would imagine he would want to be left alone, and i am sure Jay can fill in the blanks about some of the cars at a later time.

thank you for your offer though.

    Michael

Last thing I want to do is bother someone with trivial car questions if they are facing other issues in life.

Basically, I was curious if he had any photo's or stories of the Dino from when he owned it.

It is currently Blue and regualr tan, originally red and tan with Daytona stripes per the guy who bought it when it was only a couple of months old. Trying to figure out what happened to the Daytona seats and when they dissappeared. The seats leather looks to be original and I believe somewhere the seats were swapped with another car or if the next to new owner is just mistaken (I don't believe he is)

I know Jay monitors the board from time to time and is very approachable. He loves to talk about his Dad and his Dad's remarkable cars.
Perhaps one of the moderators can contact Jay for you with a message. I believe he is Super512 or something like that.

    HI All-

I would like to get more involved on the forum. I am glad to field any questions that you may have about any of the fathers cars and to provide correct history when needed. There is so much incorrect history on his cars that people should know. My fathers health has deteriorated but he loves nothing more than to talk Ferraris and would welcome a discussion anytime. He is one of the most knowledgable Ferrari guys that I know of and has owned some true pieces of Ferrari Racing History.

    I look forward to chatting.

    Cheers,
    Jay Javetz

So nice to see you here finally Jay. i would love to see your BB sometime. I am frequently at Jfrazars house on the weekends, as we always seem to be tinkering with something. :)

Sorry to read of your fathers poor health. He was always kind to me and I was some Trans Am driving young kid who knew "a little" about vintage Ferrari's.

I talked to Harold maybe a year ago to let him know the FCA National meet would be in Savannah. Three or four years ago I had a nice visit with him to see his 288GTO and P3/4 recreations. Both were well done, the 288 I think was a Norwood. Both were well done. I found him to very easy to speak with and open. Aparently he was very active with Ferrari and the FCA at one time.
