I don't know...I'm not much into tuners or bling that much. The rims look a little excessive, especially on the 360, but I guess it's all a matter of personal taste.

    Ack.

Lets look at it this way, though. Hot Wheels has several different demographics that they target their products at. They have playsets that are more in line with what a 5 year old would be interested in, and then they have diecasts like the 1:18 166MM Barchetta that adults and fans of the marque are interested in.

This product line appears to me to be targeted at 10 to 14 year old kids who have grown up with "bling" and "rice" just like those of previous generations grew up with 'deuce coupes and muscle cars.

I don't think Mattel gives a flying f*** what we think about this product line, cause they aren't marketing them to us anyway. In the same light, they didn't expect a 1:18 166MM to show up on little Timmy's christmas list either.

Dave, good point, they are a company out for profits/money. They'll go out there and make waht the certain markets are looking for. But I mean...to do it to a Ferrari is going a bit far in my opinion. That car would look good without the body kit and rims. ;)

Matt... those models really suck, but the photos are exceptional - did you snap them?

the BLING is hurting my eyes!

I'd be surprised if these things arent selling like hot-cakes. They are actually pretty detailed for the market they are going for.
