There is a company called Red-Travel Tours that provides the "Ferrari Tour of Italy." This entails a private tour with a route that takes us from Rome to Florence and back with stop-overs at a number of historic / scenic Italian cities. We do this in a Ferrari of our choice. It's supposed to be an all-inclusive package with 5-star lodging and dining included. The website is:

    http://www.red-travel.com/html/uk/index.shtml

Was wondering if anybody has tried this and, if so, what the experience has been. It is a good amount of money, but would be worth it if the website claims are true. Plus having a guided tour of Italy while zipping around in a F430 must be worth some sort of premium - :)

Look forward to getting your thoughts.

    Best.

Thought it was under "Programmes" but we may have gotten it upon inquiry.

We are thinking about the Rome - Florence - Rome trip, which includes:

    - 5 days Italy by Ferrari tour on the most exciting roads of Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany
    - Car insurance and up to 800 km of Ferrari driving
    - 4 nights accommodation in 5-star luxury hotels: Hotel De Russie (Rome), Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort (province of Siena), La Posta Vecchia (Rome),
    - 1 lunch at La Pineta Restaurant (Bolsena) + 1 dinner in the Ferdinando I Restaurant (Fonteverde) + 1 dinner in the Cesar Restaurant (La Posta Vecchia)
    - Spa treatments
    - Red Travel support staff (2-3 persons), including your private tour director with his Alfa Romeo :)eek: - well nothing's perfect - :D)
    - Visits, Transfers by VIP shuttle, Transfers from and to Rome - Fiumicino airport
    - Photographic service by the official Red Travel photographer; guests will receive a souvenir DVD with high resolution pictures

Pricing for this trip for a couple is Euro 11,000 (5,500 per person), including insurance. However, there is an additional deposit of Euro 15,000 required for the car.

    Airfare NOT included.

EDIT: A mirror site with prices is here:

That's $7,500 give or take USD. Not too bad. 800 KM of F driving? That's only about 500 miles. I'm sure that things could be negotiated. Having the support staff hanging around would have its pluses and minuses. I think I'd prefer to do something like this vs. the F driving experience.

    Isn't it a little over $15,000, US?

EDIT: Oh, you must have meant per-person.

Where do you plan on putting your luggage? For +$15k, they better provide a chase vehicle that can haul all your stuff!

Maybe the guy in the Alfa could schlep it ...

Separate vehicle transport that takes your luggage from one destination to the next. You leave one place and your bags are there when you arrive at the next.

    Hi Vik

Was wondering if you every did the Red-Travel Tour. I am close to doing a similiar tour with another company with components that are more exclusive such as being escorted by a well know race car driver Bill Adam. Tour also includes a track day experience. This was sent to me by Cavallino Magazine.
