Wow! I just called them on a 360 I was interested in, first off the add says the car is Red/Tan. It's Red/ Black, OK no big deal, then I ask about service, they told me that it was done in March this year but when I asked to see a copy of the report they said no. Then I asked about some pictures of the interior, the guy told me that if he had a chance he would get them to me, but could not promise it. I told him I was calling from Colorado, and before I spend the money to fly down I would like to see a copy of the inspection, again the answer was he didn't think so. I asked him "so you are telling me that if I come down there with a check for $127,000 ++ you will not provide me with the report"? Guess what, he didn't think so. If he were to call be back and discount the car by $20,000 I would still tell him where he should park it! That dealer will NEVER get a dime out of me!

I don't know your age but they probably think your young and full of BS...I was 25 when I started looking for my first Ferrari and got the exact same treatment. Now @ 32 I own several luxury cars including an F430....all of which when I drive, I still get looks like I'm driving my Dad's car. I'd brush it off and find a dealer that wants your business.

I bought mine from Ferrari of Plano (Texas) www.boadwalkag.com and they currently have several 360's to choose from...ask for Marcy and tell them that Brandon sent ya.

    Good luck!

Just looked at your profile..doesn't seem to be an age thing...oh well, they just don't want your business. NEXT!

I know that they cant provide past service history if it was done by a private person. Its more to do with privacy. But they should have told you that.

as far as the pictures ect...that lame of them

i know there is alot of talk about mileage on these cars

    whats the norm ?

    like for 2002 - 2003 and 2004.

if a 2002 had lower mileage then a 2003 would you got for the 2002?

I purchased a Bentley Arnage from them last year. I specifically asked if the maintenance was up to the specified required interval (just like a Ferrari they too have required intervals). Was told "Yes". Asked for the documentation and the responded "lost it". I ended up buying the car after they verbally convinced me that everything was cool. Took it Bentley Houston to go over and check the mainenance history. They found that the car was way out of service ($4500 worth) and had some other problems. After a big fight and a threat to sent the car back Scottsdale agreed to pay for most (not all) of the required service and repairs.

These guys are car whores in my opinion. They don't know anything about the cars they sell and don't hesitate to lie about about anything...whatever it takes to make the sale they will do. I highly recommend that if you are going to purchase a car from them have someone else do the PPI. You would think that it wouldn't be necessary if you are buying from an authorized Bentley / Ferrari dealership...forget that!

I can understand that, but the guy seemed like he couldn't wait to get me off the phone, it shouldn't matter if I am buying a $1500 Toyota or this $127K Ferrari, they should treat people with respect. Oh well I don't care because I found another one with 9000 miles for the same price that I am going to try and look at next week. I have been looking at the one at FoScottsdale for about a month, I never called them because I was not ready to buy, and was not serious. Now that I am ready I called them. I guess if they treat all their callers like they did me, they will have this car for a long, long time......

    from what i heard u say . . . wrote lol . . . i would agree with u that the treatment u receive was not fair.

but from what i can understand . . . through their view . . . is that they believe/consider u as a "tire kicker" or perhaps "wasting their time".

dont get mad about this event . . . but i can assure u that he probably didnt know how interested u are in the car. . .they get plenty of calls everyday and even have ppl show up at their showroom claiming or is considering to buy a car but when in fact 99% of the time are a waste of time.

OK, but if I ask for pictures, and a copy of the report, what would it hurt even if I was a tire kicker to respond to this. Not like I was there asking them for the keys, right? Like I said and I told Chad, I am a cash buyer, and if I liked what I saw by the pictures, and if he would have presented the car better, I would have made plans to go see the car... No big deal, there are many 360's for sale, I will move on to the next one.

    They are a CAR DEALERSHIP!!!!!!

A certain, very predictable percentage of customers are at different stages of interest in purchasing a Ferrari. The dealer knows that. Rudeness is unfortunate and stupid on their part. Lack of candor about the service history of an exotic is unforgivable. It is not a privacy issue. They can redact the name of the previous owner. They can also tell a potential customer if they actually have the paperwork or not. This is such a simple business canon. "Be honest and fair to yourself and your client" I would let the management know about your experience. If an employee acted badly it doesn't mean the upper management is aware. Maybe they will correct the problem to your benefit.

    Regards,

    Stew

Thanks Stew, I think you are right, I will try and contact a manager tomorrow to let them know. On the other hand, I do not wish to do business with them because of Chad. But you are right, I will let them know and post back to the forum how they respond back to me.

I'd just move on knowing that you spoke with your pocket book and decided to purchase else where. I don't know that it's worth the satisfaction of trying to engage people that don't really care. Not unless you can see some up side to it I'd fuggetaboutit. Let us know what they say? ;)

Tried to get on the 430 waiting list there, obviously a long shot with no history, only a referral from a multi-owner customer. Was told flat out there will not be room and they were already taking names for the 430 successor. I asked if I could get on that list, deposit is not a problem. Told flat out no. Oh well.

I very nearly bought a Phantom off them last year but opted to go with a dealer I had dealt with before as I just didnt get a positive feeling from them especially since I was going to buy without seeing the vehicle. Glad to know I dodged a bullet your comments are much appreciated.

They advertise heavily on ebay etc... so they cant be surprised when they get a bunch of phone calls from all types. But if they put themselves out there as an online seller they should be prepared to deal with phone calls and enquiries with the appropriate paperwork to make customers feel comfortable with doing an internet/over the phone deal. Their loss I guess.

Scottsdale is by far the worst SALES organization out there that I have dealt with. Chad is a tool. Gary Simon is the guy you want to talk to. His hands are tied with prices, etc. but at least he is cordial. I first met him when I was 23 and came in like a bum and he treated me like he would have treated Bill gates.

All of that being said, I would never buy a car there. (other than the 430 i have on order since the inception of the combustion engine). The prices are $20k-$30k higher than they should be. Why? Because they are the only game in town and the closest competitor is Las Vegas.

Their service is second to none however. Penske does own this dealership (as well as the one in the Wynn) but they also own a place called "luxury preowned" connected to their Porsche dealer. THIS is the place to go. If you decide to look into it, call Jeff Decious. He helped me out a LOT and the prices on similar cars is killer, comparatively speaking.

I do not work for any of the above mentioned dealerships and have experience with both. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Dealerships of all types will engender a very wide array of emotions, depending on who you talk to and what it concerns.

I am a frequent customer of Scottsdale Ferrari, and indeed of all of the Phoenix area Penske dealerships. My experience with them is stellar. The salespeople, primarily Gary Simon at Ferrari, Stan Briggs at Aston, as well as all of the BMW, Porsche and Bentley people, treat me with deference and respect and the service manager, Jim Summers, takes care of me above and beyond the normal call of duty.

I trade my used cars to them and I buy new cars from them. I have purchased a couple of used cars from them, including a prisitine F50 that they ensured was in perfect operating condition before they handed me the keys.

This is my very subjective, very specific personal opinion. Take it for what it's worth to you.

Regarding the many negative statements in this thread I for one would be very careful about making specific slanderous statements in an open public forum like some of the people have done here. Unless you have specific, quantifiable information it's never a bright idea to make veiled allegations against publicly traded companies like UAG, as did the one poster who advocated running away from Penske owned dealerships because of some information to be revealed in the future. That is just silly. Everyone here is a big boy. Deal with them or not -that's your decision, but don't publicly slander anyone without being willing to provide solid proof as to your assertions.
