I was just wondering if anyone has taken their ferrari to a 1/4 mile dragstrip just to see what it can do.

Never even thought or had interest in it. Ferrari's are not known to be good dragracers.

Ferrari's are not know for there 1/4 mile pull.
unless you have an F50 or Enzo.
but after 100 you can't stop them, they pull from 100 to top speed like they got rocket power behind them.

I know they arent known for their 1/4 mile times but it would still be fun though. Benzes arent known for the 1/4 mile either but I take both of mine to the track. Just wonderin...

I did a few runs using a Gtech pro meter in my 355. I think it was 12.85 or so and that was without really hammering the clutch. When I sold the 355, the guy who did the PPI for the buyer said it was one of the faster 355's he had driven in a while.

Let me make sure I understand here.

You don't mean "raced in drag" do you?

I don't know about that. My boss had a CL65 and my friend had an E55 and those were pretty mean off the line. Those cars had a ridiculous amount of torque.

Its about time you found your way over here! Drag racing is a touchy subject here though. Everyone has their own opinion as to why. Welcome!

I never have or even thought about it. The wear/tear on the clutch for 1/4 mile would not be worth it in my opinion.

I own a Z-06 as well as 430. Drag racing is much more fun (and productive) in the Z-06. As a matter of fact, from 2nd-4th gear it is also pretty thrilling. The Ferrari is a road racing car, not a dragster, but nothing stops anyone from trying anything. Enjuoy and Best

Yeah my Z06 is much ore fun in the QT than my 355 was. The 355 only ran 13.2. The Z06 runs 11.1. Much more fun.

I just picked up a 05 CL65. This car is amazingly fast. 604 HP and 738 ft. lbs. of torque will do that for ya'. I also have a 03 cl600 and this car at 540 HP would outrun my 360 in a straight line from a dead stop. My wife always likes to drag me from a light when I am in the Ferrari. She laughs when the cl600 beats the 360. I get the last smile since the 360, cl600 and cl65 are my cars and she just gets to drive them every once in a while.

got any 1/4 mile times for your benz?

That Z06 is stock? That 11.1 is amazing, what is the Speed about 130ish. You running slicks? By the way 13.2 is right on the money for a 355. Ray John's car must have been a 95 or one of the faster 355's.

I enjoy drag racing as well as road racing. I can say that the 360 , espcially the F1 cars, are not well suited to launching. On a side note, I have a Porsche GT2 that I have taken to the dragstip a few times...here's a vid of me driving of it:

I agree, best I have seen is 11.7. The 11.1 time is more McLaren F1 or Enzo.
