Curious if anyone has actually gone to see 50679 in LA. If so, how was it? The pictures are good enough to see it, but bad enough to create questions.

It's back up on ebay again... the bidding's at $9,600 with reserve not met and the ad says $27,700... although I recall a few months ago it being up for sale in the mid-20s, like $24,500 I think? And the ad is still mentioning the transmission growl in first... so not worth them getting taken care of...

I recall someone recently asking the question of whether anyone has actually rebuilt a manual tranny on one of these, or whether the stories of the exorbitant expense involved are just stories without factual basis... did that question ever get an answer?

    Ryan,

The tranny may cost $2,500 (doubt it) or it may cost $7,500 or more, you will not know until you open it up. If you want to get this car, budget $12,500 to $15,000 to bring it to great driver condition. It may cost less if you are lucky but this isn't the type of car to cut corners on. Doing the work yourself will save you some money but you will be surprised at how pricey may parts are.

    Good luck,

    Art S.

Thanks for that, I knew it was discussed before - and it looks like Brettski actually basically laid out the cost in that thread... although I like the manual and the Grigio ext, the interior is just too red for me on this one... and as Dave put it in the other thread you referenced, changing that would be an expensive proposition!
