Image Unavailable, Please Login A recently took delivery of my first Ferrari- an F430 and discovered there are scratches on the windshield likely from an ice scraper. Curious if anyone has had this issue and was able to resolve it with any of the glass polishing kits or compounds?
    Thanks!

I've done it. worked great. Have managed to take out scratches. but it also depends on how deep the scratch is.

I used a glass polishing kit on my Daytona window that a windshield wiper had made when the rubber came lose by a previous owner. The rule use to be if it does not catch your fingernail rubbing it across then it can be fixed. Mine did improve after a lot of elbow grease perhaps 75 percent. I stopped there as there is a point when you start to get a magnifying glass effect. ... plus I was pooped - you have to press very hard with an orbital polisher.

Its a messy process as the polish gets slung everywhere. Cover your car when doing it.

    Good Luck.

I have done it too. You have to be careful to keep the polisher moving and polish a larger area than just the defect as otherwise you can create distortions. I don't really want to do it again...

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I’ve decided to leave it to a professional. I’m having a new ceramic coating applied as the current one is 7 years old on the car and the installer says he does that as part of his process. He said he does a clay bar treatment on the glass and it should remove the scratches.
