Yes - a japanese market 355 run-out special edition. A bit like the Fiorano special edition. CF gear knob etc. Despite the Japanese driving on the left, virtually all JP market F-cars are left hand steering.

Any ideas where we can find them?

If its a berlinetta then I would seriously consider getting the car...the spider fiorano for the US market doesn't do it for me and I already have a spider anyway.

bringing this thread back from the dead- cold case style.. I found pictures of this 1997 GTB Cornes Special Edition car. the door sills state 20 year anniversary.. Any idea why they would mark it as a 20 year anniversary? I'll get them scanned and uploaded here shortly..

Other than door sills and dash plaque, what is special about it? The Fiorano had CF pieces also...

Could you get recessed shields in 97? I thought those started in 98.

I have the book at home and yes its all Japanese so I dont know what the real difference were. I do know they also made a 1998 model as well. It did list the color name- I'll report back when I get home. I was going through my book and saw it and immediately came on here hoping to find more information on it and all I found was this thread. I wish I knew how to read Kanji :(

Would be a cool car if it had the fiorano handling package in a berlinetta. If so, that would make it possibly the best driving factory 355 made.

If not, then it looks like the extras are superficial. It doesn't even have the full carbon sill and center console that are so sweet on the F.

here are some more pictures. I apologize for crappy resolution- I was unable to scan them in so I took a picture of the pages.. the one pictured above is Rosa Barketta Red. not sure how many were produced. there is also another 1998 GTS model in Giallo Modena over Nero interior. judging by the pictures, they do not have the Fiorano Handling Package.

One just slipped through my hands yesterday. I was the high bidder but reserve not met. I mulled it over for 30 minutes to meet their reserve, but someone else beat me to it. Was a nice car, but dash was recovered and the plaque was missing, some damage and reconditioning needed on the centre console.

    Nice TdF car otherwise though.

Based on the brochure in the attached photo above, they were offered in 3 colours. Rosso Corsa, Tour de France Blue, Rosso Fiorano.

I'm sure someone here can translate the Japanese better than I can, but they appear to have had contrast colour stitched leather on them all.

Painted calipers, CD changers, carbon shift knob, carbon e brake handle looks like, fender shields, challenge grill. 20th anniversary badging on interior.

That's a very attractive GTB - too bad you didn't get it.

A little bit upset I didn't get it...but staring mine in the garage gives me some comfort ;)

I didn't even know about these until earlier this week.

Arguably the rarest version of the 355...nothing particularly special though besides fender shields on a 97.

Could this be the car that brought the fender shields into the options list in 1998?
