Has anyone here used the RabbitAir air purifier for cigar use?

I just read about the RabbitAir "Artists Series" in Cigar Aficionado and I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with it.

The article said it is a system you put on the wall that looks like a piece of art...but it is filtering the air all the time and is supposedly effective for cigar rooms, supposedly more so than smoke eaters, etc. I think they said the price is around $500. The site is www.rabbitair.com

Anyway, if true that sounds pretty compelling. I'm remodling a recently purchased house and converting a room to a man-cave with much cigar use intended and this sounds like something for me...

    Any input would be appreciated.

My cigar shop has two of the large ones. They are fine for a couple of people but when everyone is in there on Friday nights they didn't cut it. A large Smokeater was installed and takes care of it.

The rabbits stay on auto, I think, except when there's a crowd they are cranked up. There is a blue light on them that according to Rabbit will turn red if there is a lot of smoke. I've been in there where you couldn't see clearly across the room but the light never went red. They are quiet, which I like. If you want one for one or two people smoking the rabbit should work but more than that I would go with something else. Used smokeaters can be had for under $1000, of course they don't look as nice.

The Rabbit has charcoal, IIRC, that is supposed to take the odor out of the air. I think there are some other filters I saw for much less money that have charcoal as well.

I plan on getting a rabbit for my office, probably the small one. I have an exhaust fan that mounts in the window. I think with the rabbit and the fan I should be able to keep the odor down.

We haven't decided if we are going to build a house or not, we are now looking at moving into a condo in south FL. I had planned to build a section for a man-cave type thing but more of an office and tv/smoking room and a small library. I was going to have it sealed with its own air system with incorporated filters. A friend has something like this where in his attic are a series of filters the air goes through, I don't know how well it would work for cigar smoke but I wanted something built in and not sitting on furniture. I would like whatever the casinos have, you can watch the smoke quickly fly up to the holes in the ceiling and disappear.
