Ah, thank you, CW. I thought Ketchum had sold it by now. That was such a beautiful car, well they all are, aren't they..but that was a very special ride....if I was still afflicted with Ferrari fever, I think I'd like that one...oh, just wanted to mention one thing about the cello (I'm so over all of this, it's so way in the past for me now), but if I recall correctly, the airline in Germany or Italy required that we buy it a first class seat. You see, when the cello is in its hard case, it's pretty big and cumbersome and you have to lay it down in the back of a car typically when transporting it. If I recall, it would not have fit in the regular coach seats, or we would have had to buy an entire 3 row of seats in order to lay it down and strap it in, so I think they figured it was cheaper to fly it in first class. But the real issue if I recall, was there were no more regular seats left anyway, so it was our only option. The cello traded seats with a gentleman who had a first class reservation and he was happy about that. It does make a cute story to say, "Oh, we bought it a first class seat" in light conversation, I guess. We all chuckled on the flight back about it, and I even joked with the stewardess about it not needing any special attention because it had "already eaten" and was fast asleep.

I had 'Miss KLOL Rockwear' one in my office for a long time, it finally faded the photopaper.

No CoolLink items, it was BCI Telcom racing against me in karts for Child Advocates, and some other guys, from an outfit named Enron. :D :D
I can see them back about 7th on the grid, the year I was Pole Position at Texaco Grand Prix....

I think they all had to give THEIR Ferraris back, except maybe Rebecca Marks, she never did face any charges and married rght after the scandal to change her last name.
She's still here in River Oaks somewhere.

I think Paul Frame is too actually.
Warren Buffet ended up owning SEITEL, which was a sound company all along, once Paul quit taking his "bonuses"......

    Is it For Sale???

Or did they purchase it for themselves......

Is Evan Mahe a member of Ferrarichat?
Maybe he still has the momento......

I have done some business with French Fchatters, maybe they can find him, and ask.

Yvan Mahe, is his name...I don't know if he is a member of Ferrari Chat. He was a co-driver in the 275, too, in the Tour D'Espana in 2002 or 2003, I think. I'm assuming he just tossed the little doll that was affixed to the inside of the roll cage bar when he fixed it up and sold it to the next buyer. Thanks for inquiring, Big Tex...

It would still be on the wall of my garage, but I'm just sentimental in that way......:D :D :D
I still have my son's Pinewood Derby cars all in a row, with timing and scoring results....we were slow, but they looked REALLY sharp!!!

    It's a full garage....

You have not inquired of him personally???

It's an absolutely TERRIBLE time to be selling a Ferrari.

Of course, blue chip cars like that example will always sell, but at 'what price"?

I know, as much as I try to practice "material detachment", there are some things that hold sentimental value. It's usually those little things that make you smile and remind you of happier or fun times...that's nice that you have your son's Derby cars saved and documented...I did ask Yvan about the doll at the time of the transaction many years ago, but he never responded to it, so I thought he must have just tossed it, but I never got a direct answer from him about the object...it may have been a french/english language issue, too, since his English and my French were equally challenged...it's been so long, I doubt he even remembers the thing...

Yes, I understand the Ferrari market is no where near the old "flipping" days of early 2000. Are there still waiting lists for Ferraris? Or for anything for that matter? The Bugatti Veyron was a big hit at the Santa Fe Concorso last year...but the "World's Fastest Indian" made famous by the Anthony Hopkins movie seemed to attract more onlookers this year...

    That was a great film...

Depends on the model really, The List.

    458Italia in a specified color/options = yes
    Everything else = No.....LOL!

I sent your inquiry to France.....we'll see.

Interesting about the 458 -it has similar aesthetic lines and form of the 360 Modena, reminds me of it - but more "aggressive" looking..like a mean Africanized Bee...an Africanized 360...nice model..yes - what a great movie and inspirational story.Hopkins is one of the finest actors out there...

And thank you for the inquiry! Just curious...

Much better looking in person than the two preceeding models, but they lost me with the "paddle shift only" transmission.

I like the effort of changing thru the gearbox, it used to be one of the sweetest things about Ferraris, IMO.

It's okay because I was about $371K "short" when I looked in my billfold.
"Kids in college", and all the other reasons! :D :D :D

So the 458 is paddle shift only? I agree - that's a bit lackluster as far as the driving experience goes, I never cared for it either...I like the traditional gear box shifting It's much more fun and interactive to finesse with the "blip toe" foot action...but I'm not a professional driver so what do I know!

Interesting how a single person can completely change the mood in a chat forum. It went from "snickering, gossipy spitefulness" to just two decent people having a nice conversation. Feels like I walked into a saloon here...I think some cowboys have moved to the other end of the bar or saddled up their horses...
