Has anyone seen the 355 coupe at Algar?

    This is my first post here, so I'd like to say hi to everyone first. Im 17, and im pretty much obsessed with cars. My dad is also. As far as fcars go, my dad got into the whole bubble in the late '80s early '90s, having two 328's one coupe and one GTS-- his second (black on black) was the last to roll out of the factory. He was always a porsche guy, having his first when he was 19, and about 20 since then. I was too young to appreciate the Ferraris when he had them, so im trying to get him to get another before I go to college. I really like 355's (even though I know there are people who think "if its not a twelve cylinder, its not a ferrari... but the mid engine probably handles pretty nicely). Anyway, there's a nice one at the local dealership (Algar)- '95 coupe with 12K miles, 15K service and timing belts done, great condition asking $79K, on consignment. I was wondering what you guys think?

    I looked at the car a couple of weeks ago. Not to buy it though. I just like to look every once in a while. From what I saw of it, it was a very nice car, and seems to be a pretty good price too.

    I was staring at it yesterday for a while.

    Looked clean, but it could use a nice detailing. It's on consignment, so the dealer hasn't done much to dress it up to help sell it I guess.

    Don't know how well it runs, but Algar wouldn't take it if they didn't think it was in good saleable condition.

    It's sitting right by a door, so have your pop call them, they'll roll it out and let him take it around, I'm sure.

    As an aside, when I was there yesterday I watched a prospective customer get the run around on Maser's. Wouldn't even let the guy sit in them. Actually heard the guy ask, "Can I sit in this one?" and heard the sales person tell him, "We'll have to see, maybe this one would be okay." The guy never got in any car while I was there.

    Don't think I've ever heard them be this way with someone before and I'm in the pretty regularly.

    I'm assuming the guy's been there before, or the Algar person knew of him and has had his time wasted once too often by him, but still....

    Thanks. I showed the parental unit ghost's car ( i also started this thread in the 355/456/550 chat) and he said he only wanted a stock Ferrari, impossible haha! Im going to algar with a friend friday to check it out. My dad was talking to a friend yesterday who spent $10K for is major service on a 355, so as of right now, he's more interested in a turbo or Z8. I working on the 355 though... thanks everbody for your replies.

    That's the price you pay with these cars. They also have two nice 360's and a very clean 348 there right now.

    BE SURE TO BRING THE DIGITAL CAMERA WITH YOU.
