It works I have one. 15 min install and it's fun. Hit the button and bypass valve stays open I use it down town at night. Love the sound. Then on drive home hit the button it valve operates normally. It's a cool toy

Yes. I have one works fine. It only has 2 settings. Bypass valve always open or normal operation. Like I stated above its fun downtown at night.

Please tell Me you're having a laugh with us!

If you're being serious: It's got nothing whatsoever to do with a bypass valve!

According to their advertising spiel, it's supposed to feed the engine ECU's false information to "trick" the fuel system into delivering even more fuel than is really required in order to gain performance whilst at the same time somehow delivering better fuel consumption!

From one of their dubious adverts:

    WORKING THEORY

"If we alter the information delivered the ECU we may effectively affect engine horsepower. This unit takes off the barriers applied by the ECU, it tricks sensor signal, consequently delivers 20% extra power plus noteworthy low end torque within the full RPM range without reduction of economy.

This BenzPower device tricks pulse signal sensor thus we can affect the air fuel ratio of the fuel mixture gaining more power, improving the efficiency of combustion and saving fuel. This add-on device delivers fuel-poor reading the ECU, besides a reading limit control is incorporated to avoid "signal out of range" error codes.

With BenzPower Performance Chip we arrange modified (lowered) air fuel ratio within the entire RPM range in order to attain more horsepower, better torque and improved economy. The throttle position will result more power. We tune up the engine slightly at the expense of emission has been overcontrolled nowadays by the manufacturers must comply with rigorous environmental protection regulations."

The highlighted part indicates that they are fooling the ECU's into thinking that the car is under-fuelling and so more fuel is being added to the fuel/air mixture to compensate, resulting in your car over-fuelling! (This is most likely done by simply giving the ECU a false temperature signal).

If you honestly belief this device is simply opening a bypass valve to increase power or make more noise and nothing else, please, remove it from your car immediately because you have no idea what damage it is doing!

You would probably do less damage and get better results pouring snake oil in with your fuel!

tommygunct: If you're going to fit this to your car, you really need to add turbonators too, that way you'll have all the power and performance of a turbo install, without anything like the costs!

I seem to recall that all Ferrari have done to create the 488 is modify the body of the 458 slightly and add one of these ECU boxes plus a couple of turbonators to the engine!
These simple mods have made the difference in performance between the two cars night and day!

All joking aside, don't waste your money! (and risk damaging your car in the long run!)

    380+20% = 456 HP
I do not think this is even within the realm of possible.

So they lie to the ECU, and tell it to add fuel.

This assumes that the engine NEEDs more fuel to make more power. My F355 was measured at 13.2:1 on the dyno and that is about as rich as one can go with cats still operating--let alone the problems with washed down cylinder walls, overheated headers,...

Looks to me like the only person to try it got a bad unit that only opens and closes the bypass.

I think mitch should buy one and see if it helps him on the track.

I would think if you want more power you need to talk with some racers either in japan, or even usa challenge guys. Dont think i would include ebay sellers in that short list.

If it hooks up and doesn't fry anything .... that is a good first step .... if it opens the bypass for 'fun' sound purposes .... that can be useful to some people .... if it can increase the A/F ratio ... that is useful to some people also, especially on other car models that can benefit from a fuel increase ..... however as some have mentioned above ..... I don't think the 355 needs any additional fuel ...... it runs fairly rich as it is ..... :O

Can it remove some fuel from the mix? .... ;)

Guys I'm feeling really stupid. I didn't realize what it was. It looks exactly like my bypass control valve remote control. Right down to the fob

I have a string connected to my bypass valve that I pull when I want it open. I just tie it off to the seat to keep it open or if I put the seat back it automatically closes

    :)

I found a better way. I tie the string to the shifter. When I accelerate und shift up it opens valve. When I slow down and down shift it closes. I ran the string through back window and then through a hole I drilled in the rear deck lid and tied it to the bypass valve

Were really having some fun here but there is no such thing as a "magic chip" or "tuner" that will give 20 hp. It takes a ECU specialist and dyno time to tune a motor correctly.

Here is a great vdo on it

I plan to as soon as I can make it work on a F1. The paddles don't have enough range of motion to hold the valve open

I like how they claim it will improve economy even though they say it adds more fuel. Isn't that kinda like spending your way out of debt? ;)

What colour is the smoke? - With 3 of them fitted to the car it sounds as though you are seriously over-fuelling!

    :p
