I found this at an auto parts store the other day. I was putting together my emergency bag for my 348 and thought this would be a nice addition if it works. It is small enough to fit into the palm of your hand. Has anyone tried this before? If your battery is dead (not bad), you are supposed to plug it into your cig lighter and wait 10 minutes for it to charge your battery enough to start the car. It is rechargable. Like I said, it sounds good if it works. It was $30. Thanks

    Hi,

seems dodgy to me, could be some techno allowing to jumpstart only 1 time , if it fits in the palm of hand, it cant have that much energy on board no way. I would be suspicious but you never know..maybe was made in China, these Chinese surprise us every day!

Well, it weighs 1.5 lbs. It is 3" x 2.5" x 3" It says it has 30 volts when fully charged.

    The website is www.porta-jump.com

If someone comes on in the next couple of weeks and says it is junk, I will take it back. Otherwise, I will give it a try when the time comes. We will see. ;)

I thought about doing that. But since I just installed a new Optima battery, it just seems wrong to do it. :D Maybe I will try it on my Honda!!

I have used and it does work if the unit itself has a full charge and if the car battery is not all the way down. Really it is useful if the vehicle battery is weak not fully drained, like if you left the lights on and spent an hour in the mall. It is simply a light wieght jump box.
