Hasn’t any one come up with a permanent solution to this problem? I am looking for a 355 GTS and have seen this c-piller rusting problem on most cars so far, would be nice to know it is possible to fix it once and for all if needed.

Back in 1997 Ferrari issued a bulletin on how to repair this. As with most body issues its down to the quality of the preparation of the repair and therefore the quality of the guy working on it.

Its not easy as you have to get rid of oxidization between the butress and the 1/4 panel when they are still joined.

So dig out the sealer grind out the braze and then start to clean the joint, this where it counts. Once done you braze 9 inches each end, do not mig weld or you will get panel distortion. Then seal and paint.

A good prep job will be sucessful if caught early
