    Hello,

I was in Vegas about 1 year ago for the SEMA show. At the time the new ferrari dealership still wasn't alive and kicking. I asked my mom's friend who has been in Vegas for 25 years about exotic cars. He said he would see them every once in a while. And they were usually just rentals. This was coming from a guy who would take rich Japanese tourists around a 50-mile Las Vegas radius. So he definitely would be all around.

So has it just picked up recently with more money coming in? Or has it always kind of been there? Thanks

I have only been here a year, but on the strip and towards the Summerlin area, I see lots of exotics all the time. I guess the strip doesn't really count because lots are tourists from SoCal, and then most all of the RR Phantoms and Maybachs you see are either owned by the hotel/casino's as fleet cars or by the local limo companys. Still, I used to work at the 24 Hour Fitness on West Sahara, a big road going into Summerlin from town and I saw Lambos, Ferrari's, and Bentley GT's in our parking lot all the time. So it still isn't like California or Florida yet, but there many many more than any other town.

Before living in Las Vegas (Summerlin)...I was in San Diego. I lived there for fourteen years, and I only saw an exotic once in a while. It was a pretty rare sight. Usually, I'd see them on the streets of Coronado while shopping the stores on Orange Avenue or by my middle school.

Since moving to Las Vegas in 2001, I have seen almost every exotic car made, most of them a number of times (past the gawking part). Whether your in Summerlin or down by the strip...they are all over the place, and rarely do I see rentals except when on the strip, and that's because there is about one Ferrari/Exotic rental place every ten feet it seems. Hell even at my work (a car wash)...I do details and handwashes on Ford GT's, Maserati GrandSports, Quattroporte's, Diablo's, Murcielago's, and various Ferrari's of which the owners are regular customers.

Each time I come out I am seeing more and more non rentals.

Maybe you guys are seeing the same cars over and over again or possibly people driving them in from Cali but the exotic community is very small here for both L and F as I have met most owners, maybe 75 max here in town. Most exotic cars I have seen are rentals on the roads as I know many of the cars in town as well.

The Ferrari club was started 3 or 4 years ago and before that nothing was organized at all for any events for Ferraris, now many owners have met each other since and know each other, people like Jeff Wenger, Bob Lebenson and DeShawn and Gary Shaw have really put things together well for exotic owners among others as well with first class events, even the Wynn Penske Group has been great.

I have never seen a yellow Enzo, Murcie roadster, or a 430 (Circus1) before my last trip out.

I honestly thing that there are a lot more than 75 here in town. Not all F-car or L-car owners join the Ferrari clubs or anything, so I don't honestly believe you have met all of the owners in town. There are most likely well over 200, or even a lot more, especially if cars the the CGT are considered.

Its possible but I have met maybe 40 Ferrari owners all together since the club began, some do have multiple Ferraris, I was also going by cars I have seen in the 2 main Ferrari service centers as well. Some could be tucked away in garages for years never seen i know of a few ultra rare cars from the 60s and 50s.

    Update:

The Bentley Continental GT is the most common exotic in Summerlin. Yesterday, it finally hit me. After seeing three, yes, three within a span of four hours...I go to work at the car wash, and guess who decides to show up at 5:00 to get his Continental GT detailed? None other than Paul Tracy. I love it here.

A few months back, I was at Towbin Motorcars when Pete Rose came in with his Continental GT for service.

Continental GT's are everywhere around here.

Also a TON of them in LA last weekend. Audi really resurrected that brand.

But the question I'd ask (for this topic in particular) is, is the Continental GT really an "exotic" car? I think it's a very fine car, with much to recommend it. But exotic? ... not so much, IMO.

The CGT isn't so much an exotic car, but more of a bit more upscale SL600 type car. Paul Tracy was back today with his CLS55 AMG, which is a car I love.

Really? I suppose it's not an exotic in terms of an "exotic sports car," but more of a luxury coupe.

I heard a Ferrari salesman refer to a 360 as an "ultra-exotic," which surely it is not.

Dammit! My day off and when is he going to bring in his F-Car?!

Soon I hope. If he hasn't gotten rid of it, I'll ask him next time.

It was my day off as well, but I just happened to be there, and I did get to do the wash myself, which was cool. He has some nice Lorinser wheels on it too. Screw the f-car, he needs to bring that GT2 in.
