I never wanted to be in this position, but I may have to sell my car. If I do have to let it go, I obviously want to make sure I'm not leaving money on the table. The market seems to be a little iffy, so any input I can get is appreciated. Here are the basic details:

    1989 328 GTS
    Azzurro Metallic/Crema
71k miles on chassis, but only 11k miles on 100% rebuilt original engine
All books, documents, receipts, window sticker, etc, from Day 1.
    Aftermarket tool set.
    Very good driver condition.
Big belt service+ one year ago.

This car is my pride and joy and I never had any intention to sell it. It's a turn-key car, and it's a great car. Plus, it's one of the only '89 models ever made in this color combo.

Anyway, thank you for any pricing advice I can get.

Can you post some photos? Also, what was the reason for the engine rebuilt?

I'm at work so I don't have any photos here, but I've posted many in other threads, including the 328 MEGA THREAD, among others. The engine was rebuilt because there was some leakage in a few cylinders. The last owner had it done by Competizione & Sports Cars in MD. Literally every nut, bolt, screw, and washer on that engine was replaced. I have full documentation (paper & photo) of the entire rebuild, and it cost over $45,000!

Yes, I did make the mistake of selling this car once before. I am not in the market for another f-car. This is the only one that I want.

Our cars have a very similar background. Mine has 72k miles and the engine was rebuilt about 10k miles ago.

I think $70k would be a fair place to start.

I hope you're able to keep her, but if not, best of luck to you!

I may not be in a position to keep it, and if I'm going to sell it I want to get every penny that it's worth.

Sell a kidney, keep the car.

    I am MOSTLY kidding. :D

You must be serious if you're considering selling your pride and joy.. Be sure to include a first right of refusal to buy it back when the next owner goes to sell it.

Other than that, hope all is well with you.

This is the kind of car that you do that for. With my luck though, I would need that kidney some day!

My gosh that this one or just car, olive that color, thanks for the pics. You should be able to get top$ for it. If I have to guess I would say $120k minimum, again I'm just guessing.

Haven't you sold and bought like 10 328s. Ask high and negotiate from there, the market is stagnant at the moment. I think 70 is way high.

Good luck on not having to sell that car. I remember seeing at BWs house a zillion years ago.

In that case, I'll do what I have to do to keep it. I wouldn't take $70k for the car. Too much intrinsic value there for me to do that. We'll see.

Can you believe that BW's party was over 13 years ago?? Crazy. You had your QV there, if I remember correctly. :)

Actually, the party that you went to was only 11 years ago, Dave. BUT, the original Wellington Chateau party was on August 11, 2003, which is the one that the other Dave was referring to.

I didn't go to the BW party, but was at Gieger's for drives with the crew a few times- I remember Augustine's 328 which was beautiful back then- wonderful color. I had a black 911 convertible in those days...

Any buyer can be sure this car was cared for!!

I know time flies. I was at John Aerens(sp) the year before and met the NY/NJ guys from Fchat. I still have the QV with almost 72k on it. Hope you can keep that car, it got away once.
