    The thieves have struck again.

My wheels are gone. not the entire car, just the wheels. I should say 'thanks' for not dropping the car on the rotors, and leaving it up on cinder blocks. But I hate paying up for losses like this, especially in not-so-great times. I was screwed royally years ago from StateFarm on a similar theft, but that's another story.

I spoke with FarmerDave earlier today. Cheaper route in the long run will be to source it myself rather than insurance. I've found a set, but they are not exactly pretty: 3 silver, one black and 50% worn RA1's. Price is TBD, unless there is another deal out there. I'm just looking to get it back on the road, especially in time for the driver's edge in ten days.

If I do come across the maggot low life, I intend on bashing in his, or their heads with a bat until the mush that is left is indecipherable with the feces on the ground that they rest in. Bitter? Yup. The last individuals that cleaned out the car own a shop here locally in town.

This subject does make me think of MM and others, and how they do carry. But I, similar to Carbon's thoughts, would be more on the offensive than the defensive.

    Well... watch out.

Damn thieves. That's part of the reason I'm scared of throwing on some really nice wheels on my car. I hear horror stories like this all the time and I often wonder if it'll ever happen to me with all the "sound" I have in my car. Where did you have your car parked? Did you have an alarm on it?

Pisses me off. Why can't everyone pay for their own crap instead of stealing it off other people.

alarm - yes, but non functional thanks to four visits, a few certified letters and the lovely help of custom sounds.
wheel locks - were removed for the last track event. didn't put them back on.

I don't want to bring this up as too much of a discussion, but basically.. watch out. and if you know of any spare wheels out there, drop me a line.

Not the phone call I wanted to get this morning. :( High deductibles are still the best way to go, generally speaking, but totally crappy when you have a loss that very nearly approaches your deductible or goes slightly over it.
Call me. Have bat, will travel.

I've had the same thoughts. Never reached a good conclusion either. :(

That's some really hateful **** Randy and i would advocate gun ownership if i didn't think one wrong move would put you away for a long time... Still, i hope you find the disgusting, cretinous, scum bag motherfückers who jacked your wheels... i hope you get a chance to unleash some Texas justice on them before notifying the "real" authorities.

Damn Randy, that's messed up. What part of Austin did it happen in? A while back I saw a Suburban sitting on little stacks of rocks in a brand new gated apartment complex off of Brodie Ln.
I have heard of lots of people in Austin getting their cars broken into but, not their wheels getting stolen.
I didn't notice on Saturday what your wheels looked like but, I assume they weren't stock. Do you have a picture of your car with the wheels so that I can keep an eye out for them? I know of lots of people with Hondas and Acuras in my area.

I just had my stereo system stolen a week ago, they got my speakers, amps and the face plate for my CD head unit. My guess is they didn’t have time to get the actual CD unit out. So I went and got me some security cameras and placed them all aiming at the car. The monitor is on my desk where I can see it when I’m on the computer “which is all the time” on top on the monitor is a can of mace one of my police buddies gave me and I have a bat located by the back door and front door. So if they come back, well you can figure it out…

Randy check out the classifieds forum at www.superhonda.com you may find some rims there…

Yep, this sux.... In my neighborhood, off Slaughter and Brodie, one of my really cool car buddy/neighbors had his wheels stolen a few months ago too. I drove by and his gold color suberban was sitting on blocks. Same story.....

    Sorry Randy... Good luck man.

I guess it's worse of a problem than I thought. The Suburban I saw was either dark blue or black. The wheels for the Suburban could show up on just about anything but, I would expect to see Randy's wheels show up on another Honda or some other import at one of the local ricer meets.
If I were Randy I would go to as many of the local car meets as possible.

re: ricer meets - Thought about that too. The offsets are a difficult fit and they will look very strange on other cars. I have a good feeling that TRS (not gonna link to it) is a good start.

All will be well soon. I'm going to get the set my friend has and pick up a spare front on ebay. As Rob puts it, I could have them painted any color, but my friend has two sets - one black and one silver. The blacks are mounted on new tires, which he'll sell the car with. But if the buyer wants silver, I'll get the blacks. No big deal for me. A good friend too.

So... time to have fun with another set of RA1's!

oh, I guess I should add... since it is up on blocks already, this will make it easier to bleed the brakes and do a full inspection on the suspension & brakes, right? =D gotta look at the good side of things I suppose.

    Randy,

Sorry to hear about the theft. When I screw something up myself, I get mad and soon get over it. But when someone steals something from me it really grates on me. I don't know how many things I have broken in my life, but I remember everthing that was stolen. Damn Bastards. Only thing I hate worse are vandals. I at least can comprehend the motivation of thieves, vandals are beyond comprehension. In the words of Johnny Carson, as Carnac the Magnificent,- "May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their pubic region."

Yup, and agreed. Vandals are an interesting breed. Few guys could vandalize a vehicle. And those guys are not car guys. You can hate someone all you want, but you'd never destroy their car or touch it in a bad way.
