Mini Cooper drivers are the biggest morons. They actually think that they have a hot performance car thanks to the BMW connection. One cut me off in the middle of an intersection, actually drove around me in a non-existant right lane while making a left turn, then jerked his car right in front of me with inches to spare between me and the car I was following. I was so POed I nearly smashed my car into him until I realized that my front bumper replacement would buy his car. Also, every woman I see driving one of these things on the freeway in LA is a menace - 5 lane changes per minute, tail gating, texting, speeding! I'm still seething about these sociopathic idiots!

I hate new jersey drivers who come to the city and don't obey traffic rules...bad bad drivers...The mayor should increase toll $20 to get in manhattan. Damn, they don't even pay NY local tax and there blocking traffic!.

Totally agree, it seems it's always the entry level '3' series idiots that drive like $&#@. It's their first "Sports Car" and they're out to prove it to the planet. They got it when they got their first job out of college and can make the lease payment. Trouble is they are rookies that get in over their heads because the car takes them past their skill limits and then at the threshold, it's bye, bye out of control hope you're not in the proximity time. What makes it even more irratating is the attitude that usually goes along with it.
Were not talking about the 'M' series guy that usually knows his and the cars limits and has logged some air time.

If an "electric" or "hybrid" driver gives you grief...

    say; "I like electricity, too"

    then taser them.

A guy in a Prius pulled up beside me at a red light and made a point of giving me the thumbs down and then the finger. He looked like he was having a bad day, so I tried to cheer him up by smiling and waving back. Only seemed to get him more flustered

I wonder if the driver would have done that if you had been an African American? Does he do the same to the guys in the Escalades with the big rims? I think not.

I keep hearing that about Bimmer drivers but I guess I don't get out enough to meet them.

    I have two 5 series E34's, one a daily driver. I also have an E36 328.
My nephew has an M3 and recently sold his 325.

We have Bimmers because we LIKE them, they way they are built and the way they drive.
The rest of the "status" ****** attitude is beyond me. I don't get it.

Oh wait, I DO get it! They can look down on the "ricers"!:):)

I've got the Honda Hybrid. Little less flashy than the Toyota, but about the same mileage. I love to see the guys in the Corvettes, Ferraris, etc., at the filling station.

Still drive the 430, but at 4.00/gallon, the Honda is a decent buy. Break even was 2.50/gallon, I think. Nothing wrong with 50 mpg.....

The difference here is that you are a car guy, not a BMW guy. You enjoy all makes and the guy with the BMW...they are a bit pissy because they aren't car guys and buy it cause it they think it means something to other people when they pull up next to their co-workers in the toyota and hondas.

I wouldn't remember anything said to me, regarding such discussions but.. I do remember when in one occation I was driving my Sv (diablo) casually, and was followed by a supercharged M3 (e36).. Once we got side by side at a stop he indicated that he was going to sprint off... i let him have his pride twice... then at the third stop, i acknowledged the kid and decided to sprint with him.. as the light changed from orange to green, first gear engaged, i was off, and found that he had stalled his car back at the stop... At the next junction, I noticed his girlfriend laughing at him and giving me thumbs up...

It is a terribly sad state of affairs when you cannot enjoy the fruits of ones labor.

Must you get something that does not draw the attention of people in anyway to be able to enjoy without looking over your shoulder???

Is this why people go for drives at sunrise or late evening so "no one will notice".

I had a "gentleman" leave his BMW and come over to comment on my 308 at a gas station.

I had a little trouble opening the door for the gas filler and his comment was "lousy Italian engineering".

When I opened the rear bonnet he said, "oh, the engines in the back?!?!".

    Idiot.

    Yours,

    Tom

I was driving the girlfriends automatic Miata one afternoon, and beside me a black Ferrari 355 coupe pulls up to a light. There were two guys inside, I somehow think a salesman and a customer.

Anyway, the driver started revving it all up, and when the light changed, he kicked my butt.

    Big, big man, huh?

Just this past Sun we were on our weekly run there was 2 a blue and a red Diablo in front of me we were pulling up to a set of lights that were turning yellow they both went threw and I slowed to a stop for the red, a car full of boys all had there heads out the window looking intently and thumbs up then the driver gives me the finger and goes to go threw what he thought was a green light as he failed to look up cause he was to busy checking us out.

Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetch he missed a car by inches and stalled in the middle and had to back up where I was laughing my a$$ of and so were his buddy's

I never knew someone could turn so red...:)

I can't report on any of the witty exchanges I've had with haters lately, because the few people around here that have been hostile to the Ferrari don't seem capable of complete sentences.

But most of the locals seem to be afraid of the Ferrari. It's only when I commit the sin of driving it after Labor Day (like wearing white shoes in winter) that they feel free to express open hostility. :p

But the EVO has no friends at all: The ricers are annoyed that I won't race them, and the hybrids think anything with a wing must be the anticrutch. ;)

Many moon ago, I had a rusty AMC Gremlin pull up next to the Alfa GTV-6 (original one -- tipo 75 chassis) at a light, and rev his engine. I gave him my best Vulcan raised eyebrow (get real), and watched him zoom off in a cloud of smoke.

Not tire smoke, mind you. A half block later, he was by the side of the road, the engine still smoking.

But that was long ago. Today, most yanks under 30 have never even heard of Alfa Romeo. :(

"Lord what fools these mortals be."

I know the type as well and don't get it either. However, I stopped feeling bad about being successful in their presence a long time ago. If they want to be poor and proud and look down their noses at me, so be it. I go to family reunions, be myself, and chat it up with everyone with no concerns about what they think about me.
