Cleaning out the garage and closet today. Found an excellent L'idea and 1998 through 2002 Ferrari yearbooks with the 2002 still in the shrink wrap. Plus other things such as 2000 Ferrari Challenge calendars. I am thinking about getting rid of them to allow some space but am really torn. I mean, this is my Ferrari stuff. Any suggestions on how to overcome this dilemma? I never even checked values on them until looking on Ebay today which I know is not really a good source..........Torn.....

I have that book, too, bought it new in 94. Nice book.

If space is really your major concern, it doesn't take up that much space, I say keep it.

If you're trying to raise some $ for Ferrari stuff/other car project/other worthwhile endeavor, and you don't read the book or yearbooks all that much, then sell it/them and make sure to put the $ towards your new endeavor.

I personally can't sell Ferrari or other car stuff I've collected and have the $ disappear into the joint checkbook to pay the electric bill, etc. I'd rather have my stuff.

However, the 911 needed synchros and I wanted a new exhaust, so I found some things to part with via ebay to lessen the expense (that I wouldn't have sold otherwise), put the money directly there, so I felt good about it.

Come to think of it, though, nothing I sold was Ferrari related.

    Good luck,
    Audi

That is the tough part. I have quite a few things Ferrari related and hate to think of parting with them. They have been packed away for about six years now and actually do take up more space than I really have available. But,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I also found a 1000 piece 360 Modena puzzle that comes in a metal box in the shape of the tire and wheel combo that came on the car in 1999. I have not seen another anywhere.

I need to pay for a cruise we are taking in October but I think I should be able to handle that without letting go of my "stuff". But I guess if someone really wanted any of it I would talk to them....Still a tough decision of what to do....

The fact that the stuff has never left the shrink wrap should answer the question for you. I'd say sell it. Maybe keep the L'idea book because it is a nice, special book but if you've never used it, what are you keeping it for?

"Money" sitting in a closet never used would be better spent on something else, like a cruise, IMO.

I started collecting Ferrari stuff when I was with FoDallas when it was owned by Guiseppe Risi . I have a lot of pictures I took of a lot of unique cars. Bought quite a few die cast models of various Ferraris and have a number of books I have bought over time. I put them all away when we moved the last time and never got them out. Now since I am no longer involved that closely with Ferrari and have not been for a while they are not as important as they once were. Although my time there allowed me to meet a lot of special people and make some friendships I would not have been able to make any other way. Ferrari is deep in my heart but do I keep the memories and get rid of the stuff? However you could not pry my hands off my Risi Comp team shirts and jacket. Gotta keep that..........

Oh, and looking at your profile page. Those wanted cars I can get for you cheap. Not sure I share your interest in your choices. Mine lean more toward a Pinto, a Yugo and a Trabant.

That all makes sense. When things are sentimental they are hard to let go of. But life is about living in the now. Maybe you could sell off some stuff and use the money to create new memories. OR just hold onto the stuff and give it to your children/grandchildren perhaps.
