Thinking of getting a early California. with my f430 the biggest issue is the single clutch. with the California its dual clutch so im sure thats solid?

What are the biggest issues with an early California?

My f430 which i will never sell.

Do a bit of reading and you'll find the Getrag DCT on early Calis is far from solid. As a matter of fact, it's a ticking timebomb, unless it has been replaced/repaired.
Repair/replacement will eat every penny of profit you imagined ever getting from running it on Turo.

General consensus is that 2013 Cali 30 is less problematic than the early ones, and Cali T of course.

But there are mechanics who say the gearbox will fail based on age, no matter what. The last guy who had a gearbox failure said it's $24k to repair these days.

On Turo you just need that one guy that will abuse the brakes too much, and you're looking at a $30k repair bill. Or when the roof slides fail (which they will), that's another $10k.

I don't think these cars are a great fit for Turo use. Some do it, but I doubt they would actually make any profit in the long run, as any of these issues will wipe clean any profits you've made with the car.

Unless you've got a reasonable mechanic available - I'd avoid using a Cali for Turo. I've rented a Cali-T & a Cali before I bought mine. The Cali-T lost top mechanism during my rental in Sicily. You might look at the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT C Roadster. Great car for the money. I've rented two of these via Turo. Both were flawless.

If you are getting the car for yourself get the Cali-30 if you can find one.
