Just wondering if they are all being built before the August shutdown?
Yet another, tired, old dead horse-- don't you guys ever get worn down with splashing complete nonsense across the wires... There is not ONE shread of evidence of such--and the above statement is a pure crock. But if you say it enough, loudly, maybe someday, just maybe, we'll agree.... NOT! Offer real evidence and we'll all take a look seriously. Otherwise, leave the trash talk in the garbage can.
You could say the same for the 16M, which is 100 cars rarer than the GTO. There are claims that the total production vastly exceeds 499 but nobody has actually proven it (and by proof I don't mean extrapolating some figure from 1 region).
During a factory tour last month I visited the V12 production line. It was on a Saturday, and I counted 10 SA Apertas and 19 pieces of 599 GTOs in the 2nd floor (inside and outside the production line). Quite strange that I could see more than 10 % of the total production run of SA Apertas during that Saturday. Of course no proof, but quite strange.
At this time of the year that would not be unusual - to finish cars before the August shutdown. I recall visiting the line 2 years ago at the same time and the old V8 production line was packed with 16Ms. It's a fact of the timing - to make up for the shutdown. You may also find that GTO production was faster at the beginning of the year before the FF launch - as they share the same line. And almost nothing else was being built on it earlier in the year - therefore there's a backlog to make up. I have seen that some posters here have experienced delays for their GTO orders.
