Just another ridiculous bling bling R&B "singer" who really should stick to singing and rollin on the dubs in his videos. RMX
WRONG! Kanye is a very good rapper. Have you auctually listened to his stuff, its very emotional and driven, he is auctually anti "bling bling and dubs". But that was out of line and not well thought out.
Anti bling? I remember seeing him brag about his $60,000 Jesus gold and diamond head on E! Entertainment TV. He's supposed to be more of a christian singer but I think he's not humble enough, like most R&B artists.
The man definitely has talent in comparison to a lot of other rappers. Listen to his cd's, he doesn't just use hip hop music, there are a lot of instruments in his songs.
As much as i disagree with some of his lyrics, there's no denying the man his talent... And though we see pretty much exactly the opposite on religion, i can't help but commend him for rapping about something he feels so strongly about, even if it may not seem "cool"... He's very effective...
As for West, he is a good singer (not that I'm really into the rap). It was a classless move, a time of providing your talents and heart to raise money for the victims, not a personal forum. Now is not the time to play the blame game, escp. when your trying to raise support from citizens. As for West, he is pretty "Bling Bling". I find it more a class issue then a race issue (with the amount of New Orleans in a black majority and the overall poverty, it's a tough situation. Also, Mississippi is the poorest state in the US). Also, I heard on the radio yesterday that Britney Spears just wrote on her website, "I hope everyone is ok", and thats it.
He now looks like a complete moron. Where are all the rappers from New Orleans and Lousianna who love to "rep their state" with their contributions and helping out. I know Kanye said he was giving as much money as he could, but.......
Whatchutalkingaboutwillis?? I know. I didn't mention a thing about his music, I actually don't dislike it, the point that I was making is that he IS pretty "bling". Catch my drift?
"College Dropout" was the hip-hop album of the year, IMHO. The problem is when he starts calling the president a racist I'm not so eager to buy his next album. Luckily I got the first one through the promos they used to send to my old office. C.
Kanye west has revolutionized the music industry. Everyone wants to have him produce their songs. That show's a lot. Kanye west speaks his mind, and that is why he is so well respected. After some award show he didn't win anything he complained at the after show. He got robbed, because he deserved all of the awards. But you have to agree with what he is saying. It is true . And you can see how upset he is in the way he is speaking. He never talks like that, he talks with confidence, which is what you get when you are the most well respected and requested musician in the world.
Listen up. This guy doesn't hold a candle to Timbaland, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Will.I.Am, Ali Shaheed Mohammed, The Neptunes or any of those guys on the production side. End of story. Revolutionized the industry? Hardly. Take a lesson: one can be respected for not speaking his mind as well. In fact, Kayne West's comments are exactly the thing that helps polarize white and black relations in this country, especially with younger people. He's a regurgitated version of Jodeci, Hammer, Frankie Beverly and a bunch of other quasi-Christian R&B singers before him. The big difference between Kayne West and the other people I mentioned above is those other people had some class. RMX
