Can anyone identify where this community is located ? It's the weirdest thing that I have ever seen. Got the pic from a friend this morning in my e-mail. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I guess cul-de-sacs bring a higher premium so only building those instead of regular communities might make more money? It looks stupid anyways...
ET the developer came in and cut "Curb Circles" in the middle of the night. FACT*** All the streetlights are lime green!
Aside from the no garage thing, it's pretty cool. My neighborhood only has one way in/out and it's a pretty effective crime deterent. Not so good when people get lost, however. C.
At first I thought it might have been a residentially developed piece of a reclaimed eastern bloc military airfield.....until I started looking at the size of the cars as it relates to the size of the access roads to each circular "pod". Seems that the roadway and access roads would be to small for the undercarriage of any modern combat jet......and if someone was going to go to the trouble to tear down all the HAS bunkers that normally accompany military airfields....they might as well have gone to the trouble of doing the development right in the first place.....not the way it is now......which is pretty bizarre. I think it's European.....where I do not know. Very funny comments here BTW....LOL !!
I think the green space is an asset to that community. Why the insistence to placing houses in tight rows and paving over everything? Sure, it's more "efficient" to do that, but so would forcing everyone to live in apartments. Visual space is vital.
I would agree....but in this case those fences look pretty high. Maybe these are alien settlements placed atop crop circles!
Agree, green spaces are good, although its not such an efficient use of green space. If you are going to dedicate , say 20% to green space, you can have irregular, hard to use green space like this, or somewhat more rectangular space that might lend itself to use such as soccer fields if the community wants or pure open space etc; here you have limited choices because of the shape. Some may say " oh, its poemy and different"... I say "less choice". I don't know if significant land is saved from paving in this pattern, might be. Then again, the whole thing may be a photoshop for all I know. BTW, I really like grave yards, as they are one of the few green spaces in a lot of urban areas!
I definitely agree with this since it would be fun to play football there. If this is place was in the US, I'd be a little concerned after that supreme court ruling that the land could be used to build anything. You might find a Wal-Mart or two between the cul-de-sacs, lol. Not super Wal-Marts, maybe minis...
