Driving my Ferrari makes me smile. But what I like doing even more is making other people smile, and I had an opportunity yesterday.

After taking the car to the gym for my workout (my trainer is Italian and gets a kick out of seeing the car), I went to lunch and stopped at the local AAA office for some TourBooks. While there I was reminded they were holding their annual drive-in car check clinic, free to members, in a nearby WalMart parking lot.

I headed over there not knowing if they would even want to touch a Ferrari. When I got there there were smiles all around. It was mid-afternoon and they had spent hours checking much more mundane equipment. Seeing a 328 made their day; in fact the two teams were arguing (good-naturedly) over who would check out the red car!

Needless to say the only thing they found wrong was that my battery was rather weak (though it hasn't given any problems). I got thanks from the whole gang for providing them with a, well, different experience.

The Walmart must have been left at the big chicken. Everything is left at the big chicken.

Yeah, having the prize is good. Some of the doctors have SLKs, 350z, RX-8s, Z4s, S2000s. But I have a Ferrari.

Actually the WalMart is south of the Big Chicken. Boy, that bird's fame has spread further than I could have thought possible.

(And for those of you who wonder what the heck we are talking about, here's a picture)

I love the big chicken! I grew up in Dunwoody, so spent a lot of time in Marietta (dated a girl there) and, yes, every direction in Marietta is relative to the Big Chicken. I haven't seen it in years (decades actually). Thank you.
